What's all these pots and pans with glutinous rice and what not.....
Mak oi.....salted egg yolk, mushrooms , scallop....buah berangan and beans...... ?
Why title Butterfly but Bak Chang post pulak...Mamarazzi gone crazy?
Nah...Not gone crazy la...It's actually about Mamarazzi's new pot... *NOT PAID POST*.
Earlier this month Papa bought a new Butterfly brand Pressure cooker for Mamarazzi. So far she had used it for making steamed herbal Chicken. Mmm....nice...all the goodness of chicken in there...
Then her hands also very itchy wanna try out to make Bak Chang using this. Heard people said it cuts the cooking time by more than half.
Usual boiling time for Bak Chang are 2.5 hours to 3 hours depending on size of the Bak Chang.
This round Mamarazzi boiled for 1 hour and the Bak Chang were just nice. Tried 45 mins, ingredients was cooked but not melt in the mouth type. Guess, Mamarazzi will stick to the 1 hour boiling time la.
So far she is loving her new Butterfly Pressure Cooker very much and as for me.....am loving eating the Bak Chang lo.
Wah, got new pot, means can cook more in the future! ;)
ReplyDeletehmm....can masuk 30 biji at one go....save cooking time...guess one day can cook 60 biji gua muhahaha
DeleteI love bak chang! My favorite food!
ReplyDeleteis it? nice to eat once in awhile. Cannot eat frequent coz fattening oh
DeleteButterfly kitchen wares have been a famous brand since I was a kid. Are they from Thailand too? Now I understand better about using pressure cooker to steam your Bak Chang! Normally people used other ways, right?
ReplyDeleteFamous ka? I didnt know. Only saw the ads at the roundabout near subang airport.
DeleteSaw cheap in Lazada.com so buy lo coz Mamarazzi's pots are not big enough to make bak changs and always have to keep adding water .(jaga api) .
Nah...not steam the bak chang la...still boil the bak chang in the pot. Only that no need to keep topping up water lo. and all the heat inside the pot very intense. Can cook faster
You know what? Mamarazzi can start selling Bak Chang by supplying to shops now. The taste is really good and well done to perfection. I am a serious Bak Chang lover and I know how to appreciate them. If Ah Boy eats them, he might say all Bak Changs are the same like Bak Kwas! Muahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThanks...LOL......you give Ah Boy's Oat he wll tell you which are good
DeletePeople don't seem to buy pressure cookers as much as years ago. And I don't know why...they make the most tender food! I used to have one many years ago and don't know whatever happened to it.
ReplyDeletecould be due to pressure cooker is such a good investment. Keeps for long time. And mother hands down to her child. So people dont need to buy as many as before. One is enough...unless you are into restaurant business.
DeleteBeen wanting to get one...but never did. Cooks things faster...so can make more bak chang in a short time, and send to Sibu hor? LOL!!!
ReplyDeletesend the pot or send the changs? LOL
Deletefreeze some yah...KLIA tonite

DeleteOoohh, I couldn't associate butterfly with bachang at first, but after finish reading your post, oohh, ok, get it! Haha.. At first, when you wrote my butterfly, I thought some kinda lovey-dovey post about zaman paktor dulu or what..
ReplyDeleteMamarazzi pandai la in making bachang.. I dunno how to make it, and I always feel macam very mafan to make it.. Have to prepare so many bahan-bahan, then when wana open the bachang that time sticky-sticky, but I have to say, when eat that time ahh, wah, sedap to the max!
Talking about bachang, I had bachang for lunch yesterday.. Colleagues went to SS2 for lunch, it's a market kinda area, and popular for it's char kuey teow and "harm yoke jung" (bachang).. 3 of us went, had 3 bachangs, 3 plates of char kuey teow, 1 bowl of fishball soup and 3 desserts.. *Burrrpp
