Pseudo Chicken Meat Recipe

Mamarazzi was a the Pasar Malam(Night market) and saw these mushrooms being sold at a very cheap price. RM5 for 3 packets.

She was wondering how tocook these mushroom. Hmmm...what's the name of these mushroom ya? No idea leh.

She seems to recall someone posted about these mushroom and said it taste like chicken meat.

Not sure how to cook these so she simply "tembak"(Shoot).

Seems to recall that it have to be shredded and it would look like chicken meat.

Wokay lor....chop chop chop a piece of ginger. Fried it with some oil.

Throw in two pieces of chopped chicken wings. Then throw in the shredded mushrooms. Add some dark soya sauce, some salt and some oyster sauce.

 Jeng jeng....not bad la......

Taste quite good leh ...In fact I ate two plates of rice. Nice nice to sleep with a full tummy.

Does it taste like Chicken Meat...hmm...not really la....

Errrr....anyone know what is the name of these mushroom?

  3. The name of this mushroom is as below (copied from wiki).

Pleurotus eryngii (also known as king trumpet mushroom, French horn mushroom, king oyster mushroom, king brown mushroom, boletus of the steppes, trumpet royale).

In Italian it is called cardoncello; in Chinese, it is called xìng bào gū (杏鮑菇, lit. "apricot oyster mushroom"), cì qín gū (刺芹菇, lit. "spiny coriander mushroom"), or cì qín cè ěr (刺芹側耳, lit. "spiny coriander side ear"); in Korean, it is called "saesongi peoseot" (새송이버섯, lit. "new pine mushroom"); in Japanese, it is called eringi (katakana: エリンギ).

  13. Yup, it's Eryngii or King Osyter Mushroom. Just cooked some last night.

RM5 for 3 packets is extremely cheap. These mushroom is quite expensive in supermarket with larger size and different packaging. Also got baby Eryngii which is extremely tender and juicy.
