Papa was craving for good satay and he read somewhere that one of the best satay that can be had is from Pondok Satay in USJ 8.
Adui...Papa really doesn't have "yuen"(Fate) with this satay. Went there 3 times one different days and time also not open.
Finally one night while we were passing USJ8, Mamarazzi asked wanna try again ka? Maybe Papa will be lucky leh .
Yay! finally..... It's open. Mamarazzi asked the man what is the opening time coz been here three times and each time "tarak bukak"(not open)
The man said to call first next time. Usually opens around 6pm. Here is the phone number in case you are interested to try out the sata.
Usually when Papa have Satay, he will have it with Nasi himpit (RiceCake). Mamarazzi ordered two ...well....that is the usual amount that Papa order mah....
Oh boy...was she shocked when they gave these two huge Nasi himpit. Each is the size of 3 normal nasi himpit. Price was.....RM2 each, I think
Forgotten the actual price la coz no receipt. Total for 20 sticks of Chicken meat satay plus the Nasi Himpit was RM16 plus.
The gravy was very pale. Full of peanut. The man was so kind as to pack the Sambal(Cili paste) separately for us.
Taste not bad but Papa still preferred Satay Hj Samuri's gravy.
Each stick of satay have a lot of meat. Mostly are lean meat. Great for those who loves lean meat. Was Okay for Papa . Mamarazzi personally like it with more fat.
Overall, it certainly worth the price. A check through other blogs shows that the price for each stick of satay is 62sen. Weird number. Considering the amount of meat in each stick, this price has been cheap reasonable. *say cheap later the boss see may naik harga leh . Then people will be cursing Mamarazzi*
Address : 9 USJ 8/2 B (a few doors away from 99 speedmart), Subang Jaya, selangor
Nice seeing you!
ReplyDeleteAloha
and you too Cloudia :)
DeleteDespite the fact that i like satay a lot but i can't really eat them too often as they are too heaty, acne will be sprouting out :P
ReplyDeletehahahaha surprising guys also care about acne.
DeleteYeah cant eat too often...sore throat leh
Satay! My favorite... used to have it a lot back at my parents place. Use to be 30cents a stick then 35cents and then suddenly rise up to 50cents.. Damn! :(
ReplyDeletebut even if 50 sen if the satay they give a lot of meat tak apa la...some very stingy punya
DeleteSigh!!! Have to wait till after raya to appease my craving. Here, they close for a looooong time one, some as long as one month!!! Not like the Chinese, 1st day of Chinese New Year also open for business...and charge double, triple or more for the kampua - and the shops all packed!!!! Memang Fatt Cai like that!
ReplyDeleteLOL.....sabar sabar........
DeleteI loves satay, but have to control eating...
ReplyDeleteyea cannot eat a lot coz heaty
DeleteNot aware of this pondok satay. Will love out after Raya when I am in USJ.
ReplyDeletewe just got to know about this ...but make sure call up coz timing not sure what time open
Delete62sen ah? Charge tax also ke? Hohoho
ReplyDeleteno tax la but duno why 62 sen
DeleteHey, I noticed you've put up some really nice photos on your sidebar showing your different age. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGood day Mamarazzi and J!
ReplyDeleteHaha, you very pandai ha, ask people tapao for you! :p
hehehehe...muka tembok china ma
DeleteI love satay also~ Love their sauce too!
ReplyDeletemost important is the sauce right?
Deleteis the sauce tasted sweet? nowadays hardly find a good satay sauce..all tasted very sweet..
ReplyDeletenot really sweeet....
DeleteI have never had satay, but if it came with a peanut sauce... YUM!
ReplyDeleteyup...taste great with the peanut sauce
Deletewah, talk about satay, Uncle SK also manyak lama tarak maka satay already lah.. really have no idea at all when was the last time.. errr, maybe a year ago during a buffet lah, haha, but then those buffet punya satay not shyiok enough like those sold at roadside stalls, agree??
ReplyDeleteBuffet satay cold jor not as nice leh. And some use microwave oven or toaster oven to heat up...not like from real satay stall
Deletewah, three times went there also not open?? haha, luckily the fourth time paparazzi was lucky.. errr, opens from 6pm?? but then the notice there mentioned they are open from 10am woh.. so confusing lah.. so mamarazzi saved the number already?? or actually no plan to go there anymore in the future?? :D
ReplyDeleteThe more confusing is the notice was paste facing yhr shop itself. Not facing the road. We also never thought of getting down from the car to look for any notice. Lol
Deletekus semangat mak datin oi!! that rice is so huge, and only RM2 each?? and the satay 62-sen each (very odd number indeed, usually all rounded up mah right??).. that's super cheap lah.. 20 pieces of satay with 2 huge rice only RM16 in total, i guess mamarazzi also shocked when she paid right?? thought at least RM26 right??
ReplyDeleteYa wor...maybe 62 is the magic number for them? Not confirmed on the 62 sens. Saw it in other blogs. Come homd count macam true la it's 62srns. Coz didn't ask for receipt at yhe counter. So if based on what others blogs mentioned, the amount paid macam tally la
Deleteooh, then this one ngam me lah, i prefer lean lean meat than fat meat.. hmmm, why mamarazzi likes it with more fat meat?? want to gain more weight is it?? hehehehe~~ :p
ReplyDeleteToo much lean meat difficult to chew. Mamarazzi lazy leh..nak makan tp lazy lol
Deletehe he he, 62 sen.....maybe got service charge....lol
ReplyDeleteDon't think so gua. Anyway the 62 sens not confirmed leh. Saw it mentioned in other blog. Mamarazzi paid lumpsum. No receipt taken. So agak sgak the amount correct gua
DeleteSatay yum yum. I prefer lean meat so this is right for me but too bad I do not like to venture far for food and usj is far. Seldom eat nasi himpit with satay, eat ketupat only with satay.
ReplyDeleteGood that Mamarazzi finally chose the right day to go that it is open for business.
Yea USJ is a bit far from you....but your area also have very good satay stall leh

Deletehave a great day and happy blogging small kucing
ReplyDeletetake the best of care and god bless you

DeleteOMG! Your Papa Kaldip went there 3 times and tarak buka! Wakakakakakaka
ReplyDeleteTheir opening hours all tipu one!
not tipu la...maybe not so accurate gua
DeleteIt is so faraway for me to try them but then I always travel to Klang just for BKT. So I should go there since my parents live in Shah Alam too. Satay is my favourite too!
ReplyDeletefuisay...next time go Klang BKT must ajak leh
DeleteHow's the sambal of the peanut sauce? Spicy? Which one better, this one or Satay Sahmuri's signature sambal n kuah satay?
ReplyDeleteLean meat is healthier, right? If they marinate it well, the meat sure empuk n easy to chew one... Fatty meat no good one... Hahaa
The sauce, we like the Samuri ones but the satay this one seems have more meat
DeleteThe satay look like not enough marinated, look so pale =.="
ReplyDeletecamera punya pasal...not the satay :p
DeleteThis satay makes me reminds my Melacca food trip, hehehe!!! =]
