Cockle, Clams and Lokan Galore

Still remember our post yesterday on going to Pantai Remis?

Well, here are what Mamarazzi bought. Big Size cockles for RM5/kg, Lokan RM4/kg(have around 10 pieces), ready peeled lala RM5/packet and lastly Clams RM8/kg/ Bought 2 kg.

Upon reaching home, Papa immediately boiled hot water and blanched the cockles. Ate it with the cili sauce from Ah Mah with crushed peanuts.

 As for peeled Lala....

Mamarazzi used it to fry bihun .

Lokan was more complicated...needs join effort from Papa and Mamarazzi. Mamarazzi wanted to make something like what Mommy Ling had . But instead of frying it, she wanted to steam it.

Papa boiled the Lokan so that easy to peel out the meat

Chopped some sengkuang, and "smelly" leaves. Add some goji. Mixed with lokan meat, minced pork and fish paste.

Put back into the shell and steam.

The balance of the Lokan was baked. Mamarazzi chopped the garlic.

Papa fried the garlic with butter and added in the meat.

Scoop up and put into freezer for awhile so that it is easier for Mamarazzi to scoop it back into the shell.

Added cheese on top....put into the oven to bake. err...how high the tempreture and how long tarak tau...just agak agak.

 End result ....wahh........nice leh!

Finally comes to Auntie Elin's  "Wine Braised Clams With Crispy Garlic Topping"...errr....Mamarazzi won't  bother you with her make do recipe la. It is better for you to hop over to Auntie Elin's blog and see.

Okay la...give Mamarazzi chance to "eksyen" a bit okay...here...paste big big photo of her dish....not many chance to do that you know. Mostly her dish turn kaput leh...only this turns out good.

The balance of the Clams...made into Seong Thong Lala. Hmmm...big mistake. Though she had soaked the Clams in salt water whole afternoon, still not all the mud came out.

She should have boiled them once to let the mud come out before putting into the soup pot.

End result...the soup was too salty and kinda black.

I didn't like it much.
Of all the dishes...can you guessed which one is my favourite?

Yup...it was the Baked Lokan. I love it. Can't have enough of that.

Wah, so the whole time, mamarazzi and paparazzi both are in the kitchen cooking these shells away, they can use the time to bond with each other. Nice partnership, can open a restaurant already.
