Kerabu(Salad) Okra With NuStevia

Do you buy "Last Stock"  vegetables? Mamarazzi would buy. The other days she was in Well Mart. Saw the staffs were packing big bag of Okra to be sold at 50% discount.

She looked through...the Okra were still young but a bit bruised. Hentam la. Just buy. It's only RM1.50 for this big packet.

What to do with so much Okras? Papa suggested to make Kerabu Okra which he saw in Auntie Claire's blog.

Usually when Mamarazzi makes kerabu(Salad), Papa would eat his without sugar which does not taste that nice.

Lucky for him, we received a box of goodies from NuNatural. Papa really loves the products coz it's healthy and sugar free.

Among goodies received was this NuStevia No Carbs Blend Premium Natural Sweetener.

Mamarazzi just boiled the okras for 2  minutes then put them into ice cold water to stop the cooking process. Then cut the Okra into half and added some sliced onions. Squeezed some lime juice on top of it. Supposed to add Thai Chili Sauce but she omitted that coz I don't like spicy stuffs. Last of all she sprinkle some NuStevia No Carbs Blend Premium Natural Sweetener onto the Kerabu.

Taste? I think it's as good as those being done in the restaurants.

  3. We have okra here --and I enjoy it IF it is cut in small pieces and fried in corn meal.... YUM.. I hate it when it is boiled since it is SLIMY... I won't eat it that way.. Hope you enjoyed the way you made it and ate it.

  8. Uncle SK always doesn't mind all those "reduced price to clear" stuffs, instead he welcomes that very much!! if he ever sees such section in supermarket, sure he will go and grab some, but of course make sure that he can consume them all before the expiry date lah..

  9. aiyoh, okra?? no thank you, muahaha!! this is something Uncle SK will not eat, he has got phobia lah.. remember when he was young, he's already not fancy towards this hairy veggie, and one day he was forced to eat, and the moment he ate that, he almost puked because of the hair and those slime in the veggie.. since then, he never eat or even try to accept okra again~~

  10. oh, kerabu needs to put sugar ke?? Uncke SK didn't know lah, thought would be something like fish stock and lime juice like that only.. but Uncle SK biasa just do his own Chinese style sauce for veggie, simply soy sauce and sesame oil, a little sugar perhaps.. and so this NuStevia No Carbs Blend Premium Natural Sweetener from NuNatural would be something nice to use!! no carbs and sugar free, ah, how nice!! guess it taste good to be used in cookings with all natural ingredients.. :)

  11. Nice one Kathy! :)

I'll never think to put Stevia into Okra but it looks really good and sounds like it'll taste awesome!

I've tried the Vanilla NuStevia with overnight oats coz my better half makes a lot of it, I like the taste! It doesn't have the "errgghh" aftertaste of aspartame or other artificial sweeteners.
