Adenium and Seeds hunting in Sg Buloh.

Cham...Mamarazzi "癫"..(is that the correct writing?) Means suddenly gone mad about flowers. Ngum ngum my Kaw kaw also wanted to hunt for some seeds.

So Mamarazzi bodek Papa to go Sg Buloh lor. It's famous for its nursery .

First stop...Lot 26. Read in a blog that they have very good pricing for flowers especially adenium . Saw these seedlings and some bigger pots. A foreign worker served us. It must have been mis-communication as when Papa asked how much is small pot of Adenium, he quoted Papa RM100. Since the Boss was not around , we went to Lot 36 to buy some flower pots la.

Mamarazzi asked the Lady Boss there and the Lady Boss said for Adenium best is Lot number 28 and Lot number 61.

Wah lau eh...Lot number 28 really big wor. Specialise in Adenium. There are all sorts of adenium. Multi petals ones , multi color ones and etc also have.

Since Mamarazzi is a novice, she aked the lady boss for the cheapest ones. The lady boss sold her a small pot for RM16. Red color flowers.

Next was hunting for herbs and seeds. Heard people said Lot 48 has a lot of seeds and herbs but we couldn't find lot number 28. Saw got Lot number 48 la but it was a furniture shop.

Saw many cars stopped at Lot number 49, we also went and "kaypoh" la.

Wah like gone to Cameron Highland la. Loads of plants .

Hey! they even have Stevia! RM12 a pot. Mamarazzi saw the Mini Rose. Blooming so so so nice....only RM12.90. I wonder if when near Valentine Day the price would be the same or not leh? If yes, wouldn't it be better to buy this potted mini Roses to give for my girlfriends. Cheaper leh and can last longer leh.

Last stop was Lot number 61 . Kaw Kaw didn't find the seeds that she was looking for.

Next stop....makan time....guess where?

  8. Adeniums got different prices one. Single-layer ones cheaper than double, triple and 4-layers. Some varieties cost more. Also size of the plant. Since they're SO slow-growing, it takes years to reach a decent size. Lot 28 is handled by an old couple right? I asked them how to make the plants grow faster and they said cannot, just gotta wait. Then again maybe dowan to spoil business, want us to pay for the bigger plants hehe.

    1. yup..the more layer and the harder to find species the more expensive.

Not really slow growing la. I have a friend who planted adenium from seed ..in a month it was a finger tall

Yup Lot 28 by an elderly couple.

  16. Hello Meow, this is a nice flowering plant but let me share what a girlfriend told about this plant. Best not to locate it near your house entrance. My gf was told that they do cause cancer. A study was conducted in a neighbourhood and they found that those who contracted the big C had such plants in their homes. Believe it or not, I guess. My gf has a lot of these in her garden but has since scaled down or moved them far away from her main door. Whatever, happy gardening!

I haven't been to Sungei Buloh but I'm sure it's a paradise for gardeners, landscapers or anyone out for some pots and flowers and plants. :D

  21. Yeah, the Stevia plant actually grows very well in our tropical climate! :)

I saw one commercial farm in Perak which produces Stevia for export. It came as a surprise to me too, just like how Malaysia has dried vanilla bean pods and exports them to other countries. It's very expensive if you buy the Tahiti ones and most places won't sell to locals coz they get a better price by exporting the vanilla beans but you can find some, I hear, in the smaller towns.

That's a nice garden, I almost forgot, I got a herb garden kit too! I still admire how much basil you can actually grow, I only managed a few stalks. Haha.
