Mamarazzi bought this ready to eat Sambal paste from our last trip to Tangjung Sepat. Have been wondering what to do with it till Kaw kaw mentioned that she used it to steam Brinjal.
Well...here goes.....One brinjal.
Cute into half then to pieces.
Put the paste on top. Then steam in the rice cooker when cooking rice.
Jeng! Jeng! end result.
For me...I don't like. I preferred the "black" rice. Yup....Mamarazzi cooked Loh Mai Farn for me too.
Try steam brinjal only, then add sambal just before serving :)
ReplyDeleteooo...next round then
DeleteYup, agree. Steam...and eat as ulam with the sambal. But so far, I've not some across any canned or bottled sambal that is nice.
ReplyDeletelazy to fry
DeleteOh ya! I did get one good one once, homemade...a long time ago in KK at the pasar tamu - Sunday mornings along Gaya Street. Must go when in KK!!! Lots of things to see,
ReplyDeleteya ANgel bear said so

Deletei never eat brinjal till got 1 time, my friend order, eat it, acceptable...
ReplyDeleteEat too much of brinjal also not tht good
Deletehahaha, really easy to cook huh?? i think mamarazzi used less than 5 minutes to prepare because she didn't even bother to slice the brinjals nicely, haha!! but they do look good!!
ReplyDeleteooh, mamarazzi cooked rice and also glutinous rice at the same time?? no wonder needs to cook this "lazy" brinjal~~
Deletewith that sambal i think can cook many "lazy" dishes lah.. this time is brinjal, next time i think cooling "lazy" ladies fingers also quite nice right??
DeleteIn Thailand, they steamed or boiled the lady fingers, cabbages, kangkong or wild flowers and celup with sambal belacan ala Thai style.
DeleteSK ,Hahaha ...lazy mah....:p
DeleteThat Loh mai farn was cooked in the morning for lunch. Then night time cooks rice. Got leftover. He wanna eat the loh mai fan so let him eat lor
Hahaha....very apt name for it....Lazy fingers

Hmm sounds easy.. And brinjal is very good for health~ Why Small Kucing don't like ha~
ReplyDeleteCoz got cili lo
DeleteSmall Kucing does not like to eat brinjal or he is just afraid of eating the spicy sambal on top of the brinjal?
ReplyDeletehe was afraid of the sambal
Deleteyou should steam it with hot water boil?
ReplyDeletecan steam it together with rice?
steam with rice. My rice cooker have steamer too. so put the plate on the steamer and steam with rice lor. Boil will make all the "sweetness" of the brinjal gone
DeleteI think before you steam you need to quick boil the brinjal first then only steam it..
ReplyDeleteso that the brinjal will be soft and nice..
it's already soft lo in the rice pot
