Paulo Coelho Happen On A Rainy Night

A fortnight ago, on a rainy night, I was robbed. Robbed of my “Kimi” Mouse time.

Mamarrazi hurried to bath me and sumbat-ed me with a big bottle of milk. All because of this Paulo Coelho fella.

Mamarazzi had bought one of his books after reading many good reviews. She was halfway thru the book and with the rain coming down, it was just the right weather to snuggle down with a good book.

The Winner Stands Alone is about the happenings within 24 hours of the Cannes Film Festival.

The taiko in the story was, Igor, a successful Russian entrepreneur whose wife left him because "beh tahan" the ruthless way that he conduct his business. This Igor is determined to get his ex-wife back, by hook or by crook, and dream of a happily ever after. He is even willing to destroy a few “universe” to accomplish his goals. Universe here means snuffing the life out of several people.

Behind the scene there were stories of the life of his victims and those who are closed to the victims.

There were details of the length that some of these people would do in order to achieve fame and glory. The Festival was portrayed not as an occasion to glorify a film nor acknowledge achievement of directors and the cast. But rather a survival for the fittest scene. Ones got to be good in manipulating others in order to survive.

So..is this a good book or not? Well, Mamarazzi had never read any of Paulo Coelho books before. He had written many and this is one of his latest book.

Overall, Mamarazzi is very happy with this book coz despite Paulo Coelho is now a famous author, he didn’t cincai write the ending of this book. Many famous authors, when they are famous, they tend to be sloppy with the ending of their books. Everything would conveniently fell into place and nicely tapau-ed at the end. This is not what happen with The Winner Stands Alone.

This book can rival Sidney Sheldon, Arthur Hailey and Jeffrey Archer books anytime .

  32. Have you read books by Khoo Kheng Hor?
Try your hand on "Taikor" by Mr Khoo Kheng Hor. He is a Malaysian author. His second book was Mamasan, http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2007/6/24/lifebookshelf/17897198&sec=lifebookshelf.

    Great writings by him.
