The Great Scott® Calorie Light Challenge - Fried Chicken

Lately am crazy about fried chicken but Mamarazzi is super lazy to fry chicken as it's very oily. I said buy lor...but she said expensive ah.

Then just the other day, someone up there must have heard my wish.

Poslaju came and delivered a package. It's the New Scott® Calorie Light Premium Towel .

It's specifically designed for superior oil absorbency. This helps to tackle Mamarazzi's concern of high calorie consumption. As you know fried chicken have a lot of oil.

New Scott® Calorie Light Premium Towel superior oil absorbency power is said to help to reduce calorie intake from fat by up to 25% , based on the reading of calories from fat (Kcal/100g), test were conducted by third party international laboratories using 3 Scott Calorie Light Towels on fried chicken.

That is certainly impressive.

So now, Mamarazzi doesn't have excuse not to fry chicken for me to eat gua...Just use New Scott® Calorie Light Premium Towel. Nah! take one now and use.

Mamarazzi said "Cham! how the heck to fry chicken ah? Gotta buy dunno this flour and that flour bla bla bla".

Papa said "Aiya, no need so complicated la. Just marinate with salt and turmeric powder lah".

Then Mamarazzi had an idea. Why not add some fried ginger? She pound some ginger.

Used quarter of a chicken with one teaspoon of salt and one tablespoon of turmeric powder. Add in the ginger.

Mixed everything and marinated for a few hours.

Dinner time, Mamarazzi deep fried the chicken pieces and used New Scott® Calorie Light Premium Towel. to soak up the excess oil. If Ah Mah was here she would certainly say "Aiyer! so oily" when she see the oil soaked kitchen towel.

Taste? Hmmm....I like it. Yummy! Mamarazzi simply loves the fried ginger pieces. Ate a lot of that. For me, I preferred the chicken wings lo.

Kerabu(Salad) Okra With NuStevia

Do you buy "Last Stock"  vegetables? Mamarazzi would buy. The other days she was in Well Mart. Saw the staffs were packing big bag of Okra to be sold at 50% discount.

She looked through...the Okra were still young but a bit bruised. Hentam la. Just buy. It's only RM1.50 for this big packet.

What to do with so much Okras? Papa suggested to make Kerabu Okra which he saw in Auntie Claire's blog.

Usually when Mamarazzi makes kerabu(Salad), Papa would eat his without sugar which does not taste that nice.

Lucky for him, we received a box of goodies from NuNatural. Papa really loves the products coz it's healthy and sugar free.

Among goodies received was this NuStevia No Carbs Blend Premium Natural Sweetener.

Mamarazzi just boiled the okras for 2  minutes then put them into ice cold water to stop the cooking process. Then cut the Okra into half and added some sliced onions. Squeezed some lime juice on top of it. Supposed to add Thai Chili Sauce but she omitted that coz I don't like spicy stuffs. Last of all she sprinkle some NuStevia No Carbs Blend Premium Natural Sweetener onto the Kerabu.

Taste? I think it's as good as those being done in the restaurants.

KFC Pau, Klang

After having BKT at Fong Keow BKT Restaurant, we cruised to the next lane/road . Going KFC to buy Pau.

Just found out last month that there is a famous Pau shop here called Restaurant Klang Food Centre. Discovered that in May but Mamarazzi didn't have time to blog about it yet.

Don't play play leh....People queue up for this Pau leh. Tourist and local also swamp this shop though there are several pau shops in the vicinity .

Must be the good publicity they got from Ho Chiak show and several media publication.

Mamarazzi went crazy back then. Borong 3 of each type of pau that were available there. There was the Mui Choy Pau, Char siew Pau, Sang Yuk Pau, Custard Pau, Yam Pork Pau, Red Bean Pau, Vegetable Pau and Peanut Pau.

Didn't get Dai Pau(big) and  Curry Chicken Pau coz they were out of stock that day. They have Kaya pau too but Mamarazzi didn't order that.Ordered so many till the lady also semput liao.

It's nice how they arranged the pau in plates instead of styrofoam boxes that would makes the pau mushy if coop up long.

Rating....as good as Tg Sepat Pau . Size also bigger than most pau in KL. Not that pricey also. Bought total of 18 pau. Paid around RM. Average around RM2 per Pau. Okay la. The Sang Yuk Pau, Vegetable Pau and Yam Pork Pau even have hard boiled egg in it.

Which Pau we like the most? I like Yam Pork Pau. Mamarazzi likes Vegetable Pau and Sang Yuk Pau. Papa likes Yam Pork Pau and vegetable Pau the most.

Apart from Pau, they also have several types of chang and fried stuffs.

If you are at that area, Mamarazzi said it's worth a try of their Pau. Here is the address 10, Jalan Batai Laut 5, Taman Intan, 41300 Klang.

Read about this shop in many blogs. Finally managed to pay the shop a visit.

Errr... do they have nice toilet? Need to "download" leh. Ate Poh Chai Yin already so "download" rate slowed down.

Mamarazzi ordered Vinegar Pork Trotter. Loaded with lotsa ginger. She said taste not bad la. Would be perfect if they add bit of dried cili.

A pot/bowl of Bak-Kut-Teh. Taste good when eat  warm.

The only downside is that the rice was in a plate. Asked for bowl but the worker doesn't understand. Okay la...hentam aje la.

Huh? Lausai cannot eat oily stuffs? Then what am I going to eat ah? Eat a bit bit can la.......can? Just rice wit bit bit soup and vege can la.....

Easy "Pete-Za" Making

Lately I don't know why. I "gila"(Crazy) pizza. Kept asking Papa to buy pizza for me to eat.

Mamarazzi pulak not really crazy about pizza . Grumbled each time buy , RM50 fly away.

Papa said aiya easy peasy la. Just make pizza at home la.

So last week, Mamarazzi did just that. Really "gila" leh. Sekali made 3 pizza!

 Chicken sausage Pizza

 Seafood Pizza with extra cheese

And so called "Hawaii Chicken" Pizza.

 Errrr....Papa ...you eat first la....

Papa said not bad. The Seafood pizza have very strong sotong(squid) taste. Of course la.....Mamarazzi put so many pieces  of sotong in it leh.

Where Mamarazzi copied how to make pizza from?  She google....found those recipes quite confusing. So many steps leh.

Then she recalled Pete of Peteformation have blogged about pizza making before. Aha! Finally found easy "Pete-Za" recipe to follow.

Roughly here is the recipe that she "Copied" and "modified" from Pete's blog

Pizza Dough Ingredients
2 1/2 cups of bread of flour
200ml of water
½ teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of sugar (she forgot)

Toppings (simply hentam whatever you like lah)
Chicken meat , sliced , marinate with salt and LP sauce
Sotong(Squid) , Sliced ring shape , Marinate with salt and LP sauce
Sausage, cut into thin slices
Pineapple, cut into small pieces
Onions, cut into slices
Button Mushrooms, cut into thin slices
Tomato, diced
Tomato Sauce
Oregano, ½ table spoon
Shredded Cheese

Method

1) Put wet ingredients for the dough into the bread maker followed by the dry ingredients. Let the bread maker do the hardwork.

or

as Pete did it...Pour the dried yeast water mixture on the flour and add salt. Knead the dough and let it rest for around 1 hour. Take the dough and roll it into the shape a ball. Use a rolling pin to flatten this dough to fit the shape of your baking plate.

2) take the ready made dough from the bread maker and flatten the dough to fit the shape of the baking plate. Then apply a layer of tomato sauce on the dough. Arrange all the toppings on the pizza

3) and bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes at 180Deg C.

4) For the one with extra cheese, Mamarazzi added extra the cheese after the pizza is done. Just put some of the shredded cheese on top and chuck it back into the oven about 2-3 minutes. Take it out from the oven once see the cheese melting.

As usual...for a comprehensive and correct/accurate recipe, please hop over to Pete's blog and check out his interesting recipe in Pizza making.
