Steam Pondan Crabs at Restaurant Pangkor Village Seafood, Taman Megah

We came to this restaurant about two months ago and was intrigue by its Pondan Crabs. This round, we came again purposely to taste its Pondan Crabs.

Boss! Order please....I want STEAM PONDAN CRABS.

Meantime, enjoy my Coconut first. Refreshing.

They have Lemon with Sour Plum juice but when Mamarazzi asked for Lemon juice the lady was like "huh??". After taking the order, she came back once again and asked Mamarazzi how to make Lemon Juice. *pengsan*

Hmm...exercise my "mouse" first. Later can westle the Pondan Crabs

Here comes the "Steamed Pondan Crabs". Aiks....really very "miu thiew" wor...all small small and "si mun" looking.

Taste? Hmm...sweet as promised but not much meat. If not mistaken. the price that day was rm48-50/kg

See the "miu thiew" crab claw? The size of a normal spoon. Papa said this crab is going to change shell wor, That's why the meat was juicy.

Mamarazzi gatal wanna eat Lala Fried Bihun. So Papa ordered a small one lo. I think it cost RM17.

Alamak...the lala fried bihun doesn't look like those that we ate in BB Ho Steamboat nor Tanjung Sepat one geh. The bihun was paler and the Lala still in the shell.

Counted...got 12 Lala in the Bihun...RM17? RM1 for each Lala and RM5 for the Bihun?

Hmm...looks like we'll stick to its Crabs dish instead of Fried Bihun next round...if there is a next round.

A Billion Reasons Why By Kristin Billerbeck

Synopsis :

He’s a handsome billionaire. She’s not impressed.

Katie McKenna has never loved any man but one: billionaire Luc DeForges. He was her first love. But there are a billion reasons why she's engaged instead to Dexter Hastings, a solid and stable man who wants the same things she does: marriage and a family but all of the things that she wants without the deep-seeded pain and fear of being abandoned that Luc brings.

Dexter and she have worked an arrangement that's akin to faith without action, love without deeds -- a dead faith. Going home to New Orleans to sing for her childhood friend's wedding, Katie must search her heart to find out if any of her reasons for being with Dexter are stronger than love. Only when Katie steps fully into faith and jumps off the cliff of life into the arms of Luc does she understand the fullness of God's grace.

My Review:

I like this book. Katie had me totally frustrated by her indecision. Gosh! how I wish I can put a cellophane tape over her busybody and domineering roommate, Eileen's mouth. Oh...How I love the gorgeous Luc. Kristin Billerbeck is really good in developing the characters in her book well.

The plot was interesting enough to have me want to get to the last page and to know the result soonest possible. There are enough faults in each characters to make the story seems to be more alive and attractive.

This book is great to be read anywhere, whether in a train or curled up under a warm blanket. The flow of English was very smooth and easy to read. There are parts where I laugh at the witty conversation.

There is no need a billion reason to read this book, one is enough and that is it is a good read

Overall, I give this 4 Stars out of 5.

Mamarazzi's Pickled Mango

Take photo... announcement..announcement...Auntie Little Bird is rumoured(rumor created by Mamarazzi) to be pregnant.*haiz..sure kena she curse upside down*

Don't know why she kept pestering Mamarazzi recipe for pickled mango. Hmm....normally pregnant ladies baru loves pickled mango mah...

So here is the recipe.

Get these tiny mango. Malay calls it Mangga Hati Ayam. Cantonese calls it "Thang Zhai Monk". Peel off the skin, cut into half and throw away the seed. If you like the skin then you can also pickle the mango without peeling off the skin.

Soak in salted lukewarm water for about 15mins to make it more crunchy.

Meantime, put some asamboi, Golden weed, sugar and vinegar in a bowl and stir till the sugar melted. You can get the "Golden Weed"(Kum Choh) from Chinese medicine hall. It gives more taste to the mango.

As for how much sugar and vinegar, is up to personal taste. If you want it more sour then put more vinegar lor...or if you like it sweet then pour more sugar.

But make sure the vinegar and sugar solution is enough to cover all the mango.

After the sugar melted. Throw in the mango. Don't add any water. Wait for 2-3 days then it's ready to eat.

Remember not to put this in any plastic or metal container ya. Just put into glass jar/container.

The Children's Life of Christ-The Little Girl of Nazareth

Adoi....what story to ceita ah...pening already some more fever. Lucky Uncle Hock came the other day and bought me some Bye Bye Fever. Now, am okay already.

Lucky Mamarazzi dug this book up from her "treasure chest". There are 51 stories in this books, retold by Enid Blyton.

Jangan jealous. Mamarazzi got this book from Nationwide book store at RM6-90 last time. That was more than 20 years ago.

The first story in this book is "The Little Girl Of Nazareth".

There was a little girl by the name of Mary who lives in the village of Nazareth a long time ago. Everyone loves her as she was a good listener and forever ready to help.

She lives with her mom and dad. They were poor. Sometimes, she would heard her parents talking about the good old days. When she asked about it, her parent told her that they were once a great nation but now they are ruled by the Roman.

Mary asked if there is anyone who can make them great again and her mom told her that it there is some one..a great king that would come and save them as God has promised them Mary heard that the coming King would be greater than David.

Oh how Mary wish that he would come soon and that she can see him

Mary thinks that it's strange that all kings are tiny babies in the beginning and wonder that the king would most likely be born in a great big castle well equipped with everything with a lovely princess as his mother.

Then her other told her a piece of news. They were poor then but their family used to belong to royal family of David. And the same goes for Joseph the Carpenter in the Village. His family used to belong to the royal family of David a long long time ago.

Mary thought about think great king a lot and wish that he would come soon. How she wished that she is a royal princess and be the mother of the king so that she can love him and help him

Mary went to Joseph and asked him if he had heard of this great king or not. Joseph told her he had heard of God promise and surely now it's the right time for him to come as the Roman rule them harshly. He is confident that one day this king will be born and it will be a wonderful day for people of Israel.

Flaming Steamboat Buffet, Danau Kota Branch

We had steamboat for our New Year dinner with Auntie Cynthia and Auntie Little Bird. We went to Flaming Steamboat Buffet at Danau Kota.

I can tell you it was a real "flaming" experience.

Knowing that it was New Year day, Auntie Little Bird called and make a booking earlier by a few days. It was a rather worrisome experience. When Auntie Little Bird called them up, the one who was online seems to be rather impatient. Told Auntie Little Bird, okay and hang up just like that without asking for her contact number or anything. Hey..don't restaurant normally would ask for name and contact number when you make a booking?

Auntie Little Bird got worried and e-mailed them. Only then did they gave her a booking number but without asking her where we preferred to be seated.

Hence when we arrived, we found ourselves seated at the sidewalk. Guess, it's the "smoking area" gua. Gua okay leh but my Dear how? She is not comfortable if it's hot leh.

Okay la...nevermind la. Maybe the food here is worth the slight discomfort. Got penyakit berjankit from Mamarazzi. Am now turning into "anakrazzi". I take photo first before eating.

Wah...CKT with such a large size prawns..impressive leh. Don't think you can find it anywhere else in KL

Taste first. Hmm...kira okay la. Prawns were fresh.

Mamarazzi went on snapping photos of the food but halfway she lost "mood" already. Sort of start "boiling".

Went to the soft drink machine wanted to get some soft drinks to cool down...alamak...one of the soft drink habis..then she tried others pulak...what?? all habis? Woi...baru 7pm wor.

Asked the staff there and he replied "rosak". *Pengsan*. According to Auntie Little Bird, this branch was around for less than 6 months. So fast the machine rosak ah?

The more disappointing thing was that Mamarazzi couldn't find the 2 Chocolate Fountains. Tarak fountain. Only found a bowl of chocolate being heated in a bowl like machine.

We arrived that place around 7pm. Previous diners must have been very fond of fingers foods coz most of the finger food advertised was no longer there. Tarak french fries, tarak potato wedges, tarak yam roll, tarak chicken nugget and tarak curry samosa. Ish..ish.. ish... sikit also tarak left for us.

Then Mamarazzi thought of having a cup of hot coffee might cheer her up. Mana tau..take the cup...found this black thingy inside. Looks like residue from previous user.

Then look for another cup..okay..fine..got a clean one. She poured a cup of coffee for herself lor. Then see see..uiks...why not hot geh? Asked the staff. Staff said "opps...lupa 'on' the machine. Haiz...looks like it's just not her day.

Apa lagi..she drowned her sorrow in a few plates of prawns lor. One thing good about this place was the prawns and scallop were fresh and big big punya. Very worth it. Walloped those things kao-kao loh.

As for me, tarak Chocolate Fountain pun nevermind la. Mamarazzi went and took a bowl and cedok the chocolate from the heating machine for me to eat with Biscuit Stick lo.

Eat punya eat..they all laugh at me. Calling me "Hail! Hitler!" . Ask me to raise my hand pulak tu. Hmm...don't know why Auntie Little Bird and Mamarazzi laughing till rolling at the sidewalk. Lucky tak kena car langgar.

Preparing for CNY?

Fuih...finally have some time to rest. Been very busy since the beginning of December 2010. A lot of things happen. Some good, some bad.

A mouse got into the house, Ah Kong unexpected hospitalisation, going Ipoh, attending wedding, meeting a lot of bloggers friends, going gai-gai with my Yee Yee, New Year dinner and many more.

Nearly everyday there was something on.

Got my first "pay check" from Nuffnang. Amount is small only. Why cash out ah? Coz Mamarazzi says money in my pocket is better than money elsewhere mah. Agree or not?

I also got my hair cut in a car. It's my first time having my hair cut in a car. Hmm..the car was kinda small for me. Don't think Mamarazzi will be bringing me back to this shop coz the Barber was rather impatient.

Then early last week, Mamarazzi saw hyper market selling Chinese Arrowhead(Ngaku) cheap at RM2-58/kg. She went and buy some since both Papa and me loves to eat.

After 8 hours of frying marathon, she only managed to make 4 medium size containers and 6 mini containers. Why so little? coz I have perfected my "Oliver Twist" face. You wanna see my last year Oliver Twist face? Click here to see.

Between Papa and me, we have finished nearly half of what she fried.

By the time this post is up, all the Ngaku Chips are gone already. You want some? Have to wait for Mamarazzi 2nd round frying lor. But then even 2nd round of fry, sure the chips will be gone very fast.
