Mamarazzi's Barley with Aloe Vera and Lemon Drink

Weather is still super hot over here. Mamarazzi was watering the plants when she noticed her Aloe Vera plants had grown quite big. There were some babies Aloe Vera being squashed by the mother plant.

Means have to trim off some of the stalks lor. Bountiful harvest indeed.

Now what to do with it ya. Messaged a few friends see if they wanted Aloe. Passed a few stalks to the neighbour.

While waiting, she thought of what she can do with the Aloe.

Took two stalks of the Aloe. Peel off the skin. Cut into cubes. The inside were pretty slimey. Need to rinse many times.

Put a packet of barley into the pot and add in the aloe vera cubes. (Add some sugar if you wish.) Boil for about 20 minutes .

The barley can be drink warm or chilled. Taste nicer with a bit of lemon if it's  chilled.

Taste okay la. Hmm...I wonder how much a glass  if Mamarazzi is to sell this drink. ..but then might be too troublesome la. Heard that there will be a new law coming out soon...wanna sell anything online must register. Sell Aloe drink surely will need to register lo.

  3. We love our Aloe, too! Last year we left it out and it froze and died so we had to start over! It's important to keep some for bee stings, burns, and all sorts of first aid! I don't think I have ever drank it before though!!

  5. Nice! Good for health. My plant is thriving very well - I think it is a desert plant, can live without water - just depend on the rain. But mine is very very smelly though. Too lazy to do all that to drink - good for cuts and things like that.

Ya, I am not liking this new law that's coming up. Hopefully, it's not too restrictive for genuine people who are just trying to earn a living.

    1. can. You can just boil the aloe in sugar syrup to get rid of the bitter taste. Then add the aloe into your drinks...mint drink..lemon drink or whatever drink

  21. My mom used to plant aloe vera...very huge and healthy looking. Try using it for my pimple face, didn't work at all. Then they told us, aloe vera has many species, maybe ours was 'chapalang'.

  23. Hi, I have an Aloe plant in my house --which we use after getting a burn or scratch on our fingers (or somewhere on the body)... Works GREAT. I also use an Aloe concoction which they sell if one has a sunburn... I have problems sometimes with my feet burning at nights --so the Aloe mixture helps sooth that also... Never have thought about drinking it though.... Good Luck with your new idea!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy
