Terengganu Peranakan Festival 12-20 Sept 2014

Sorry ya...no posts for two days. Mamarazzi was not well. I get to skip school. Yippee....play whole day in the house while Mamarazzi konk-out from med. It's like school holiday all over again.

 (1)

Speaking of school holiday, last school holiday we balik kampung to see the Trengganu Peranakan Festival.

It starts on 12 September which was a Friday. We zoom zoom balik kampung right after school . Reach there nearly 8pm.

The Parade scheduled to start at 8.30pm. Just nice. Went to Ah Mah's house to freshen up a bit before going to Chinatown to see the parade

(2)

 Found two chairs

(3)
Guai-guai sit there waiting for the Parade to start. Parade finally started around 9.30pm

 (4)
Errr...end up have to tenggek on papa's shoulder coz I cannot see the Parade leh. Suddenly many people come stand in front of my chair.

Must suggest to the organiser to do something about it next year if they are going to have the Parade annually.

 (5)
Sorry ah...photos are blur and tiny coz I snapped the photo from faraway. If you wanna see nice photos then please visit their Facebook.

Wah got "wedding beca" leh. Is this what they do in the old days when the Groom go fetch the Bride?

 (6)
There was even a fierce Dragon chasing the ball. Very lively performance.

(7)
Follow by the lengchai lenglui Nyonya and Baba in the traditional costume.

(8)
Then come the playful lions. Dancing and jumping here and there entertaining the crowds.

(9)
Oh my kucing! Was it Laksamana Cheng Ho's ship sailing into Chinatown.

Wowser! the boys and gals on the ship sure can play drums leh. Maybe someday can even give Drum Tao a run for their money.

(10)
Then comes some more Lenglui pretty Nyonya

(11)
.. and follow by Baba in their singlet, short pant, sarong and Wooden Chinese Clog which makes "kronk kronk kronk" sound as they walk down the street

(12)
This Mamarazzi must say it's a bit of a surprise. A group of lassie playing traditional instrument but the tune that they pay was modern tune. If not mistaken it was 失戀陣線連盟 by 草蜢.

(13)
Then comes the Emperor with his court ladies.

(14)
*Growl* my tummy making noise liao......nearly 11pm liao or was it already 11pm.....yet to have dinner leh....

(15)
 And the parade goes on......

(16)
Ah...this part I like....not because we were going to cari makan but got marching band.

(17)
 Attention! stand up straight!

(18)
Got "style" or not?

(19)
Finally found one Cafe that is open right in front of the street parade. But the down thing is that they have run out of food. ......mmmmm.....

(20)
No food but got drinks also can la....

(21)
Can see the motorbike Parade from our table . Think this was the last of the parade as it rained cats and dogs after that.

Must have been a blessing that it did not rain earlier.  Next stop....hunt for my dinner...
