The next morning we woke up early....hmm...not really early la...around 8am. Went for a fast breakfast at Warung Norazila 2 before head over to Pasar Manir. Papa heard this Pasar Manir is even bigger than Pasar Payang . That during weekend, more vendors from the village will come and sell their product there.
Alamak...true what they say.....the market was very big. Round a few round, still can't find any parking. No wonder people says if wanna go to Manir Market , have to go early else difficult to find parking.
After some time...gave up....detoured to Cabang Tiga market. Seems that they have moved to new building. The place was quite clean and spacious.
Spotted this "fruit". Looks a bit like Ciku (sapodilla fruit) . Asked the vendor and she said it's Buah Binjai. The lady said it's used for cooking . Not sure whether it's related to keropok Belinjau or not.
Spotted another "new" thing. Not really new la but just that we have never seen it before. It's call Buah Perah.
On our way back, we pass by the Turtle Alley.
It's nice to see that they have revamp most of the alley around Chinatown with various theme.
Presenting......
Can you see the "floor"? Mamarazzi trying to capture the art work on turtle....
Here is one...turtle laying eggs. Can't capture it all coz too many people around the alley. Others waiting to snap photos too.
Just snap photo with this big big Turtle la. Not live one but will do la....
I would like to try the buah Perah as I like to eat chestnuts and I would like to walk down turtle alley too as I remember reading that it is a very narrow alley and I like narrow alley. Small Kucing is having so much fun exploring the town.
ReplyDeleteThen certainly have to plan a trip to Trengganu
DeleteWhat I want to know... is how you and your family stay so thin with all the eating you do?
ReplyDeleteLOL.....that is a puzzle to us too
DeleteThe Turtle Allay looks awesome! So colorful and fun. What does it have this name? The boiled food looks like giant coffee beans!
ReplyDeleteThey now have several alley there. This one recorded the history of the turtle landing in Trengganu.

Deletewah, waking up early in the morning and Uncle SK is sure Mamarazzi must be very hungry since she did not eat anything the night before.. kesian lah, but then look at the breakfast you had, fuyoh, sedap aje lah.. got nasi lemak with curry chicken, and also those kuih-muih in huge sizes (compared to those in KL)..
ReplyDeletemakan kau kau then can jln jln kau kau
Deletewah, this Pasar Manir must be a very popular market among the locals.. but too bad, Mamarazzi wasn't early enough?? i guess the people already went there while the sky is still dark before the sun rises.. anyway, maybe Mamarazzi and Paparazzi just wanna go gossip a bit only, never mind lor~~ hehe :p
ReplyDeleteya lor....we terbalik....sun up till burn bum bum baru go there
Deleteaiyoh, interesting stuffs that Uncle SK has not seen before.. that's the thing going to the local markets, surely can find many stuffs that are new to us.. buah perah, awww looks like it's nice to eat leh, Uncle SK though it's some beans when he saw the first photo but later on Mamarazzi's hand, they are quite big, like chestnut?? interesting..
ReplyDeletebigger than chestnut leh....taste a bit bitter. dunno if you will like
DeleteTurtle Alley.. and now only Uncle SK remembers Kuala Terengganu is (or already was) famous with turtles!! and, no real live turtles probably because this animal is in the risk of extinct lah, too many human are killing them already.. so no real ones, but that fake one also looks like a real one leh.. must teach Small Kucing to sayang animals kot?? :)
ReplyDeleteyea now its getting less and less turtle liao. Think this alley apart from being tourist attraction, it is also to teach the younger generation about protecting turtle
DeleteInteresting chestnuts! They look wet & slimy! Great shots on the murals, dear!
ReplyDeleteit was wet but not slimy.
