Persimmon of Malaysia?

Not long ago, we travelled to Ipoh and at of of the Rest Area, Mamarazzi spotted a Fruit Vendor selling this fruit.

She had never seen this fruit before. The Vendor told her it's "Malaysian Persimmon".

Out of curiosity, she bought two fruit. Not cheap. RM12/kg. Two fruit already weight around 700gm.

Came home, we cut the fruit. The pulp was translucent white. Texture was a bit like Duku. Taste sweet but not as sweet as Persimmon.

Discovered that there is only one pip in the fruit. Hmm....maybe can plant this? The vendor said the tree is not that tall.

Does anyone know what is the real name of this fruit? Mamarazzi wanna know.

Empty Pages on a Sunday?

Hello hello...for those who are frequent follower of this blog, you would know that Mamarazzi would tell a story from Enid Blyton book about Christ on Sunday. This have been going on for the past two year.

Well, all good things must come to an end. Maybe this blog would come to an end one of these days. She finally finished the two books.

Now she doesn't know what to write on a Sunday. Any suggestion? Shall we leave Sunday slot blank? or post like it's just any other day?

My Special Occasions

Yellow or green? Which one looks much more pleasing to the eyes? If you ask me, I'd surely say green because green is the color of nature and it's usually much soothing to the eyes, but if you ask me which shade of diamond earrings will look better on a lady, then I would say both. You can never go wrong with diamonds. Be it yellow diamonds solitaire earrings or green diamond earrings. Diamonds will always make the wearer stands out in the crowd, no matter what color it is and it will definitely be my choice if I were to dress up for special occasions.

Superb Morning at Vistana Hotel, Kuantan

Today, Saturday, begins another long weekend. Next Monday and Tuesday is Public Holiday again. Where are you headed to?

Last week, I had a great time at Vistana Hotel.

When we check-in, I saw the Vistana Hotel have swimming pool. I wanted to go but Papa and Mamarazzi said tomorrow.

The next morning I was excited. Papa and Mamarazzi wanted to go downstairs to have complimentary Buffet Breakfast but I wanted to go swimming.

In the end, we compromised. All of us had breakfast by the pool side as the Coffee House was located by the pool.

I got my wish.

While Papa and Mamarazzi had their relaxing breakfast by the pool.

Selection of food there are quite good. They replenish the tray very fast. Food were kept warm.

I love the most there is Nasi Lemak. I ate the whole plate of it by myself.

Mamarazzi's coffee.

While swimming, I saw there is a "water fountain" at the side.

Naughty Papa asked me to climb up and sit down.

Weeee.... hmmm...I can "wee" so far ah.

After an hour or so of playing in the pool, Papa and Mamarazzi said enough.
And we proceed to go into the Coffee house to have a sitdown breakfast. Found my "twin" there.
Freshly made Roti Canai.

I queue up and got one for Papa and one for myself.

 Hmmm....order some more...

Hot from the Kitchen. Scramble Eggs with baked beans and scrambled eggs with sausages.

Ah...got fruit some more ah...am full already leh.

La~la~la~la~ bubble bath time. Wash ah wash ah wash away the chlorine water.

Mmm....after a nice warm bath....tie to chill out with my Pringles in front of the television. Just waiting for time to check out and begin the journey home again.

A Poor Service and Poor Attitude Restaurant

Mamarazzi is not going to name the restaurant here coz she knows that sometimes people would make the mistake thinking that she is RECOMMENDING this restaurant. Moreover, why should she advertise and rise the google rank for this restaurant in view of the poor service received.

Mamarazzi wanted to try out the Ikan Bakar, Papa brought us to Tangjung Lumpur which is famous for seafood. They have been to Tanjung Lumpur before and had eaten at a different restaurant which they received good service?

This round they went to a different restaurant. They just "tembak"(randomly picked) a restaurant that seems to have quite a lot of customers. Food must be good there, right?

When we were seated, a man who took our order had a "selamba" face. We ordered drinks. Papa started to order our food.

Papa ordered fish. The man pointed to the counter. He did not explain properly but we caught on that fish is to be ordered at the counter.  When Papa tried to order other seafood, the man again point to the counter.

Mamarazzi started to wonder at the man's attitude. It was like there are gold instewad his mouth which he refused to open in case the gold drop out.

Or could it be he is having sore throat or what? But when we order side dishes, the man was able to speak properly.

After he took our order, Mamarazzi started to observe that man. She saw that the man attitude changed when he takes order from his own race while other race. Hmm...that means the face doesn't have a sore throat. Maybe he just doesn't like our face or the color of our skin kot?

After a long wait, some of our food arrived. Kerabu Mango. Taste good as the mango was crunchy.

Papa ordered RM2 of Sata, but Keropok Lekor that came. We told the little boy that we did not order Keropok Lekor.

Mamarazzi observed from her seat that the Keropok lekor/Sata vendors was gesturing at the "waiter". In the end, the Sata came.

Mixed Vegetable. Portion was rather small.

Telur Dadar(omelette) for me. It was rather oily. Can you see the oil in the hole there?.

6 big prawns cooked with Soya Sauce. The prawns were fresh.

Jenahak Grilled Fish. You can gauced roughly what was the size of the fish based on the two bowls of sauce on the top.

After tasting the Sambal, Mamarazzi said she still preferred the one from Warong Katana.

Squid cooked with Tumeric. The Squid was fresh.

At the counter, total bill comes up to RM102. When Papa asked for a detail break down of the bill as he feels that it was a tad expensive. The Cashier verbally told him the Prawns, Squid and Fish cost was RM77 while the rest of the food are RM22.

While he was at the counter, he observed that when other customers request for a detail bill, they were given a detailed receipt. Hence, Papa also requested a detailed bill.  The Cashier wrote him a receipt which state "Makan Malam- RM102" instead of with a detailed break down.

Although seafood price have rise during the festive season, Mamarazzi feels that RM77 is still a rather hefty price.

Mamarazzi observe the price stated in their sign board :

Fruit Juice RM4(big- we had 2)    RM8.00
White Rice                                      RM3.00
Sata                                                   RM2.00
Mix Vege                                          RM3.50
Telur Dadar                                      RM1.20
Sub-total                                          RM17.70
Less                                                (RM22.00)
Kerabu mango                                 RM7.30

Price of kerabu was not stated at the signboard.  Mamarazzi feels that the RM7.30 for the kerabu Mango was expensive.

Although the seafood was fresh, but we certainly would not go there again with the slow service service and the poor attitude.

Delightful Time at Vistana Hotel and Teluk Chempedak Beach, Kuantan

After the BIG BIG meal at Kor Kor Jon's place, all of us were feeling rather sleepy. There were a lot of cars on the road.

The memories the horrendous traffic jam that we encountered last year was still fresh. It was bumper to bumper kinda jam for dunno how many kilometres.

Hence, Papa and Mamarazzi decided to spend a night at Kuantan. Found Hotel Vistana. They have rooms available.

Mmm...the room is very clean and comfortable.

First thing...."I on the TV ah? Find channel 613 ah?"

After a quick shower we heads out again. Spotted the Welcoming Drinks Counter. Had a glass of thirst quenching Orange juice.

"You want some, Mama?"

We head on to Teluk Chempedak Beach. Fuiyoh,....here were a bumper to bumper traffic jam from the main road to the beach.

Papa asked Mamarazzi and me to go to the beach first while he look for parking.

While waiting for Papa, I played with the BIG BIG bubble that Kor Kor Jon's daddy gave me at the house.

Uncle Wan and me smuggled this into my pants so that Mamarazzi don't see. If she saw, sure she will say me greedy. Already have Angry Bird Bubble, still wanna take some more. Tak malu.

See my BIG BIG bubbles. It was very windy at the beach. I don't have to blow. Mr Wind blew the bubbles for me.

Saw some kids building sand castles.

I also wanna build.

*Pat*Pat*Pat*

Jeng! Jeng! one for me, one for Mamarazzi and one for Papa...oppss....one of the Sand Castle crumbled.

Poor Papa ...round and round for more than half an hour still couldn't find parking. Hmm ...maybe I should take this half bottle of Vodka found at the beach for Papa to drink?

People seems to have left a lot of things on the beach. Apart from this half full Vodka, there was a full bottle of Sun Block, some gambling cards, a whole plastic full of unused paper cups (which I used two to build sand castle), mineral water bottles and a whole load of other things.

Aiyo...leaving all these junks no use la...next time leave a wad of money for me lah.

Pesta Nenas(Pineapples) at Sg Ular, Kuantan

Previously we bought pineapple from Kampung Kubang Ikan for Ah Mah while on the way back to K.Trengganu. However, the stall was not open the last few rounds that we went back

Hence this round we stopped by this "PESTA NENAS" stall which is at Sungai Ular, Kuantan and got some pineapples for Ah Mah. It's located at the main road, so it's kinda hard to miss.

The fruit were indeed very very.

That was why on our journey home, Papa decided to stopped there again to get some more pineapples.

Some are being sold by piles while some are sold by kilogramme.Usually, a pile cost RM10. If small fruits you can get 5 fruits to a pile.

Papa opted for those RM10 for 3. The size were quite big.

For me, I wanted to choose my pineapples. Hmmmmm....how many kilos....

 not enough.....

 Must take one more....BOSS! Kira!

Observed some astonishing sights....Pineapple grows on trees?

 Huh? On tiang?

 Ooooo......it's decoration only ya....

Just too bad when we got home, we found 8 out of the 10 pineapples stem had turned black and the bottom starts to rot. Must be due to being coop up in the car too long.

In this case, it's unfit to be given out as gift. Papa managed to walloped most of it while given some to friends whom we know would be understanding and does mind the slight "damaged" fruit.

Do check out this Pineapple Stall if you happens to pass by there.
