Waterfish at Pasar Malam and Sharkfin Soup at Restaurant SF Seafood, Sg Buloh

Earlier post, Mamarazzi mentioned something about spotting a dish that she wish to try out at this restaurant. 

Well, a few days later we did go to this restaurant again. 

The story was like this...we went to Pasar Malam. Mamarazzi saw a Fish Monger and she wanted to buy " Red Dates Fish"(Direct translation from Cantonese). 

Hence Mamarazzi asked "How much is Red Dates Fish?". Fish Monger replied "RM18". Okay...that was fine. 

Mamarazzi then proceed to choose the fish that she wanted. Then The Fish Monger slapped the fish onto the weighing scales and said RM18. And he proceed to clean the fish.

Mamarazzi was blurred for a moment there..."what?? that tiny fish RM18?? "...Haiz rupa-rupa when Mamarazzi asked the price, she assumed it's per kilogramme but  when the Fish Monger replied it was per kati. Aiyoyo.....1 kati is 600gm. Laaa....still got people use KATI punya meh....

That was how she become "Water Fish". Next time must ask properly whether it's KATI or KILOGRAMME.

After that it started to rain very hard. Mamarazzi no mood to cook. Hence decided to go makan at Restaurant SF Seafood. 

Brought along the fish and asked them to steam it for us. Papa laugh. Bikin malu aje la bring the tiny fish to the shop. 

Well, at least we get to eat it "fresh" and Steamed correctly at the restaurant. 

Ordered some Sweet Potatoes Leaves.

This is the DISH that Mamarazzi wanted to try out. "Choong Zhai ChI"(Mini Pot Sharkfin - RM8-80).

Taste very good. Generous amount of Crab Meat. As for the "sharkfin" ...hmm...not sure about that coz Papa was wondering why the the end of some of the sharkfin is not sharp. Worth the try.

Over ordered Again at Restaurant SF Seafood, Sg Buloh

Haiz..don't know why each time came to this restaurant sure to over ordered punya. Maybe coz the food here is reasonably priced and taste pretty good?

We had mixed Vegetable. Pleasantly surprised that they throw in pieces of Sotong in the dish.

Had Bitter Gourd Soup. Not bitter at all and very healthy.

Ahem....Fried Sotong...not very healthy but it taste good wor.....Once in awhile should be okay, right? Agree or not Auntie Cleff?

Last but not least Salted Fish Oink Oink....D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S ! Too bad can't finish this. So we end up tapau it home. The next day Mamarazzi use it to cook Salted Fish Oink Oink Claypot Rice. Super yummy!

Can you guess how much is the bill? Total plus drinks and 3 ric comes up to RM43 only.

There is one more post coming up on this SF Seafood Restaurant coz during this dinner, Mamarazzi saw another dish which she would like to try at this restarant and we did go there again for it. Mamarazzi is sorting out the photos so stay tuned.

I Was Stripped Half Naked at Portugis Settlement, Malacca

What happen was like this. 

After we went to Tan Kim Hock Products, we decided to have dinner before going home.

We have had Chinese food, Malay food, Baba Nyonya Food...next Potugis food lor.

Papa drove up to the Food Court at Portuguese Settlement. We received a "warm welcome" when we parked our car at the makan place.

Each person were trying to get us to go to their stall.

 

We finally was won over by stall number 10, J & J Corner. 

No regret going to J & J Corner coz when we reach there, Mamarazzi got a whiff of something good.

Very nice aroma of MANGO. 

Yup! spotted this "Joe's Only One Mango Juice" situated right in front of J & J Corner. Mamarazzi straight away says she want Mango Juice.

Mamarazzi didn't know that Joe's Only One Mango Juice is famous there. Only when she came home doing some research while composing this post did she knew it.

Each a cup. RM2.50 each. Cheap if compared to KL. Taste...WOW! Suits us a lot.

I love it! They put an asamboi into the drink. Papa preferred his without the asamboi.

After I finished off Papa's Mango Juice, we ordered two more. This round without the Asamboi. Tasted very good too.

After we finished our dinner, Mamarazzi noticed that they have Ice Blended Coconut with Ice Cream. Hmm...next time must order this.

While waiting for our food to arrive, I was rather naughty. I can't sit still. Kept running here and there.

This led to me having to do strip tease.

What happen was, I went and play under a tree. Then Auntie Florence noticed that there were A LOT of black colour "dots" moving around my pant. 

Omgh! it was RED ANTS! They were practically crawling all over my pants and going up.

Thank God for Auntie Florence's sharp eyes. She immediately led me away from the tree and into the brightly lit area and alerted Mamarazzi.

Mamarazzi proceed to strip me.

Off with the shoes...Yuck! whole load of Red Ants there. Off with the socks! threw them on the ground and stomp stomp stomp

Next...off with my pants. Aiyo....so many red ants at the end of pants. 

Some ants on my legs going up my thigh area. Mamarazzi promptly swat those away. Saw I was bitten at some parts. Applied a whole load of Tiger Balm.

She stood me me up the chair. Peeked into my undies. Nope..no ants there. Birdie is safe.

Fuih! Lucky me...else it would have been off with my undies too.  People were starting to stare at me. The stall owner came over to see what's wrong.

While Mamarazzi was stripping me, the Grilled Otak Otak Ikan which Papa ordered from Misu-Misu stall arrived. It must have been good coz they finished those in a jiffy and order 10 more.

We also had Steamed Otak Otak from J & J Corner. RM10. 

Black Pepper Brinjal (RM6). Mamarazzi loved it very much. She says maybe she will try this at home using Quay Po Cook's Lemon Pepper spice.

Sambal Ladies Fingers(RM6).  Wonder why this vegetable is called Ladies Fingers. Ladies fingers got small small "bulu"bristle) ka?

Mamarazzi "kepunan" Grill Fish coz she did not get to eat much of the Grill Fish from Umbai. That fish had too much small bones.

Portugis Ikan Bakar(Portugese Grilled Fish) is cooked differently. They add in Sambal too  grill it. Taste? Yummmy!

This fish cost us RM32-20(700gm). The market price that day. Price not much different from the Asam Fish that we had at Restaurant Nyonya  Makko earlier that day.

Ginger Lala (RM15). Surprisingly big portion. We love this type of Lala coz its very sweet and very meaty.

 

Papa saw they have Scallop and wanted to try. Usually Mamarazzi dare not order Scallop as they might be pretty expensive but since we came all the way here, might as well try lah.

Surprised. This plate cost RM15 only.

The size were pretty big and taste very good.

Yummy yummy...I like the food here.

Year 2011 Round Up - January to April.

Can't believe it. It's already December.

Mamarazzi blog hopped to several blogs at the other side of the globe and found that they have started to do Year End Round Review.

At first Mamarazzi don't feel like doing but she was inspired by Grumpy Grateful Mom with her delightful post titled Backwards Dancing Hermits. Its so funny. It's a good idea too to do re-cap for 3 months each post instead of the whole year in one post.

Well, here is our round up. But Mamarazzi is doing January to April 2011 instead coz she missed out last week. There will be one Year End Round Up post every Monday for the next two weeks.

JANUARY

Mamarazzi starts her "Frying Mania". Turned into a Frying Banshee. Woke up early in the morning "Goreng ! Goreng! Goreng!" till night time.

 Goreng what? Goreng "Chinese Arrowhead Chips". Preparing for Chinese New Year.

These were her "successful" chips.

 These were her "Failures". Lotus Roots Chips and Sweet Potatoes Chips.

 FEBRUARY

I was turned into Princess Josephine by the evil Witch Mamarazzi.

 Yes, it's Chinese New Year month. Our Balik Kampung journey was smooth.

 But we got stuck in a terrible traffic jam on our way home.

 A lot of makan the whole month through.

 Papa got Mamarazzi and me Valentine gifts.

 Had a small Birthday celebration.

 It's Papa and mine Birthdays celebrated together. Papa was born on 22nd while I was born on 23rd.

Ah Mah had mentioned that it would have been great if I were to share the same birth date with Papa but I like it this way. This way, we can have two Cakes.

MARCH 

Was a rather quiet month after the hectic January and February manic days.

 I got "musical" when Uncle Patrick and Auntie Florence presented me with this.

And this.

And this.

And tried my hands on entrepreneurship.

APRIL

Many "first" for me in April.

First time received FREE movie tickets from NUFFNANG. Okay..it's for Mamarazzi's birthday but it's my blog, right?

My first time watching a movie on a BIG BIG Television

First time singing "Happy Birthday" to Mamarazzi.

My first on attending Book Signing Function. It;s Book Signing by Ms Shamini Flint. Mamarazzi loves her books.

Not my first time going to the Funfair but my first time playing Bumper Cars. Yay! It's fun!

The Children's Life of Christ-Jesus Is Punished/My Christmas Tree

In Enid Blyton's book "The Children Life of Christ", Pilate released Barabas while Jesus was taken by the soldiers to be cruelly broken.

The soldiers dragged him to their barrack and beat him up. They mocked him. They taunted that a man called The King of Jews have to have a crown and a sceptre.

They stripped Jesus clothes and made him wore a scarlet robe. Gave him a chair as a throne. Then they gave him a crown made of something thorny. They put it roughy on his head. A piece of stick was given to him as scepter.

One by one the soldier went up to him pretend to bow and then they spat at him. Some used the "scepter" to beat him.

The soldiers then brought him to Pilate. He was in a very pitiful condition. Pilate thought if the people saw Jesus pitifulsight, they might want him to set Jesus free hence he brought Jesus to the people. Unfortunately, their hearts were frozen cold and they kept insist that Jesus be crucified.

Some of them felt that Pilate is trying to help Jesus and they started to say that Pilate is no friend of the Emperor. Pilate was afriad so he let the Chief Priests to have Jesus. They led him away to be killed.

In another case, Mamarazzi and me finally drag out our Christmas Trees from the store room .

Big one is for the family.

While this small small tree is for me.

I sure had fun decorating my tree.

I can't wait till night time to switch on the light on the Christmas Tree. I had a afternoon nap. When I woke up, I was excited as it was dark.

Time to on the Christmas Tree lights. I siap instruct Mamarazzi not to touch as I wanted to on the lights by myself.

Jeng! Jeng! Our big big christmas tree.

Here is my small small Christmas Tree. I let Mamarazzi to "help" me with the decorations.

I like my small small tree but I like the big big tree better .

Coz bigger tree, Santa can leave bigger present for me(LOL).

Colonel Sanders With Papa?

Come come ah...walk faster ah...it's evening already. The Cendol Stall outside here already closed.

Later the shop close how? Must borong some "ole-ole" (gifts) home leh. Else tak sah to say that we have been to Malacca without getting some tidbits from Tan Kim Hock Products. 

While browsing for goodies there, Papa was approached by "KFC Colonel Sanders"....opppsss...sorry my mata juling(Cross-eyed)..not Colonel Sanders. This one don't have "janggut"(Beard)

See see newspaper clips there...uiks...that man looks like the owner of the shop, Mr Tan Kim Hock. Ahem...not Mister. If not mistaken his title was duno Professor or Doctor as written in one of the newspaper clippings there

Anyway, he was telling Papa about the goodness of this Concentrated Lime Juice With Honey. Can help to reduce weight also.

Mamarazzi joked with the Sales Lady standing there that Mamarazzi do not need to reduce weight as she is skinny enough. Mamarazzi need to gain weight.

Wow...the brain of the Sales Lady acted very fast as she replied that the Juice is a bit sourish. Hence after eating Mamarazzi will have more appetite to eat and by eating will gain weight. Aiks...macam tu pun boleh. Must certainly ask the Boss to increase her salary.

The Boss have much confident of his product and he asked his staff to snap a photo of him with Papa. Maybe as a before and after photo gua.

Mamarazzi also took the opportunity to snap photo la.Kiasu (LOL).

After that he belanja(treat)  each of us a the Cold Honey Lime Juice.

Mmm..nice. Very refreshing and thirst quenching

In the end we bought two bottles of the Lime Juice with Honey, Fried Shrimps Rolls and some other stuffs.
