It was around 1.30pm that we were done with the Malacca Zoo. It was fun but it was rather tiring too.
Once we got into the car, I told everyone that I wanted to "oi oi".
Mamarazzi told me to "Oi oi" lah and that she will wake me up when we arrived at the "makan" shop.
They decided to have Chicken Rice. Mamarazzi had the Farmosa Chicken Rice and Hoe Kee Chicken Rice Ball before. Hence, this round she decided to try out other shop pulak.
We had our lunch at Chop Chung Wah, Hainanese Chicken Rice.
We were lucky as we arrived and ordered one step early coz as we were having our lunch, Mamarazzi saw the Boss closed the grille of the shop. Chicken Rice finished.
I was rather grumpy at that time coz I was tired.
But then when Mamarazzi mentioned the word "Ice Cream", I "woke-up" almost immediately.
In fact, I had around 4 "Rice Balls" alone.
The rice balls came in a plate of 5.
The size of the rice balls seems to be a bit smaller than what we had at Hoe Kee many moons ago. But then I can't be certain as time had long lapsed.
These tasted pretty good. Both Mamarazzi and Auntie Florence loved the Chili Sauce that comes with the Rice and Chicken.
Speaking of Chicken, we ordered half a Chicken. Needless to say, it was pretty delicious. Meat were tender and juice. Well cooked with no reddish blood oozing out.
Total bills for half a Chicken, 6 plates of rice balls and drinks comes up to around RM30. Mamarazzi consider it to be affordable and worth the price since the food was good.
The shop is located at (the right corner after crossing Tan Kim Seng Bridge from Dutch Square and opposite of San Shu Gong Shop) Lorong Hang Jebat, Melaka, Malaysia
Ooo...will have a long queue especially weekends n PH.
ReplyDeleteLook like fish balls. LOL!!!
ReplyDeletemy malaccan friend said that's the best place to get chicken rice balls. i ate before a few years ago, i remember it was really good. don't even bother trying elsewhere on jonker street - tourist traps!
ReplyDeleteEaten in this shop b4. Food not bad. But 5 rice balls do not seem enough, even though it equivalent to a bowl of rice. :)
ReplyDelete:: wah, u so lucky to make it there in time. went there last year with some friends .. we had to queue to get in! so hungry already by then, between the 5 of us, we had 50 rice balls and 2 plates of chicken in less than 10 mins!
