Time Tunnel Museum, Cameron Highland

Time sure fly fast. The first week of school over liao.  190schooling days -5 days = 185 days to go. That is Mamarazzi  counting la. For me, i am happy go lucky punya. School days I get to play with friends but dislike the homework only. Holidays I get to go gai-gai.

You know we went to Cameron  Highland back in September  school holidays  right? Morning hunts for food. Google and found many recommended a stall run by a disabled  couple.  Wanted to try eating there but when we arrived, there were some people waiting too. And the disabled  man looked quite frustrated  with the customers.  Gesturing rudely  at the waiting customers.

Oh well....better not add to his frustration  so we went to another place. Saw quite many people eating at May Flower Restaurant. Went to eat there lo.

Ordered Wan Tan Mee...it's not like those in KL. It's  noodles only.

We added some Yong Tou Foo. Not bad. Tummy full liao...time for adventure  loh.

First stop...Kasi Manis Strawberry  Farm. Had a Ice Cream potong made of strawberry....wahhhh...cold ah.....

On the way up...saw this signboard....nearly misread it...kihkihkih. .nearby saw another signboard...Time tunnel...wah... Mamarazzi  recalled that Auntie Claire had blogged about that. Stopped the car and in we went.

The ticket was quite cheap...if not mistaken  it was RM5 for adult..children RM3 or something like that.

Excited.  Brought along my pencil and note book. Wanna jot down my adventure /observations.

Jeng jeng jeng..back to the future.....

Saw the old old old old Driving licence  and various identity document.  Hmm...how come don't have the old blue Identity Card ya?

Yikes...so this is how "Piggy Bank" comes to be...hmm...lucky the piggy never go missing like in the poster of the movie Journey to The West. That naughty piggy must have gone food hunting when people are shooting the poster gua.

Have you seen these piggy bank before? Mamarazzi  said she have the Hock Hua Bank and Public Bank piggy bank somewhere in the store room.

Uiks...these doesn't  look so old wor. I have a set of the Milo Trucks in my room . And recently,  Uncle Jack fast food joint was giving Milo pencil  box similar to the one in the cabinet leh.

What’s this? Scale? How to use?

Too bad...Mamarazzi  also not too sure.

Wah....mini toy piano. This one Mamarazzi  also had...someone gave to her when she was young. Then rosak liao. Threw away. Aiya..should have kept it. Can become antique  by now.

Mystery a foot my dear Watson! Where did he go missing to? Nobody knows. Sad, aren't  it? Just like we are still wondering  where is MH370 and all the people on board.will it be another unsolved mystery?

Hey! Are we Curious Corner, Amcorp mall. So many tin sign geh

Yuck.... spitting is a no-no.

Ah? In the old days matches looks like this ah? Fuiyoh...have King Kong and superman oh

Mamarazzi  said ladt time during Chinese  New Year her uncle would buy a few crates of these soft drink to her granny's  house. There would be 7-up, orange juice and kickapoo. During school days, the boys would give a rude name for kickapoo... not suitable to post here but if you are the same age as Mamarazzi,  I think you will know. The meaning of the rude word is mistress.

Various brands of milk powder and drinks.  Hey...where is Dumex?

Hmm.... she said she have not seen Bear Brand milk powder wor. Must be older than her gua.

This old stove place reminded  Mamarazzi the time her granny makes Bak Chang. Her Uncle would buy cooking oil in a big square container. Her granny woild keep the containers and turn the containers as a boiling pot for Bak Chang.

Those oil containers can also be cut and make into rubbish pan.

Various toothpaste but I think there is a spelling error la. Why Darkie? I thought it was Darlie? She asked me to read the signboard  there for an answer. I still don't  understand.

But this one  I know...Merdeka!

As we went further into the tunnel, it grows darker. Mamarazzi said it gives her the creeps but Papa said old days there are not electricity  so the place memang gloomy looking la.

He said cinema in the old days displayed the poster of the movies in cabinets like these.  Don't  have electronic  signboard like nowadays.

Mamarazzi  said this  is  one of the craze back then. Can be said that this is the great great great great 100000x grandfather of games like Angry Bird, Chicken Invasion and Mine craft. It's  called Game & watch.  Mostly about some one falling from a building and the ambulance  worker have to catch them or monkey throwing coconuts. Feels weird to me.

Pa pa and Mamarazzi  enjoyed this place more than me. I only get to see the things here but don't get to touch or play geh. They said coz it's old and these are fragile.

But Mamarazzi feels that it would be good if the place is less dusty. Yes, it is supposed to portray the old days but then surely no need to let the stuffs gather dust. Would be nice to see it dust free.  Also it would be nice if the place could be made brighter  .

  1. Ooo..nostalgia. I agree with Mamarazzi. Seems such a waste not to keep it dust-free. Wish my mom hadn't given away our Game & Watch. Would have been lovely to pass it on to the next generation in the family.

    1. If dust free will be niver. But guess the place is too big for them to hire more staff to keep it dust free. Or maybe they want the old time "feel"

  3. Our trip to CH last month was cut short due to car problem, or else we would have drop in to visit this place. The weighing scale is not too old, had one in my father in law's shop. I have the toy piano too. It was called Darkie toothpaste before being changed to Darlie. There are many items belonging to my younger days. It would be an interesting place for me but would prefer to place to be kept clean and free from dust for visitors. Happy schooling!

  20. HAHAAH! What did you misread it as?

Hmm...the time travel place is quite interesting! I remember a lot of the old, old packaging, especially for Ovaltine. I think that one is circa 1980's.

I also suddenly remembered a very old drink called Glucose. It's just sugar, pure glucose, but people back in the days fed it to kids. Kids!! They put it in my water bottle too, the ones with a nipple when I was a kid, at least my grandma did. They didn't know better then, good thing I didn't turn out obese but certainly hyper.

I like the collection of old toothpaste too, reminds me of the time when we used toothpaste on our hands in primary school coz the teacher would use a ruler to beat us 50 times. :D

Yea all those old tins and containers....Mamarazzi 's granny use to keep to make as mould for kuih bakul

Mamarazzi never like that Glucose though her mom tried to fed her that. Same goes for the scott emulsion.

Toothpaste asked to rotan? Wah...u all very clever le...mamarazzi's time they just bodoh bodoh.rub the place kena rotan only..

I am so excited to see that Game & Watch thing! I never owned one but how I played them for many hours daily is now a wonder!! I forgot who loaned it to me. I was always an expert in such gadget games and upgraded myself to play at video arcades!
