Time to clean spider web from the blog liao. It's Friday again. How many weeks already ah since school started? Seems like nearly daily Mamarazzi got bullied by the rain.
Last weekend was a long weekend. Three days off plus two self-declared school holiday coz not well.
Mamarazzi finally managed to make presentable and non-leaking Nian Gao. Satisfied liao. And this year I suddenly discovered a liking of eating Nian Gao. Asked Mamarazzi to make dome more for me. Taste good while its not harden. Roll it in shredder coconut. Yummy.
On Sunday I felt much better. Papa brought me to JayaOne for scootering. Not many kids there. Probably they had gone shopping for Chinese New Year stuffs with their parents gua.
Replenished my energy with this. Banana Leaf Rice.
As for gardening, Mamarazzi is trying out planting spring onions in eggs tray.
Hopefully tomorrow Mamarazzi can do a proper post la. To those who emailed us asking why long time no updates, thanks. Don't worry. We are okay.
A great weekend to all of you !
aiyoh, Mamarazzi suddenly felt bad about the cobweb in her post and quickly use her phone to publish this post!! or probably after being successful in the nian gao making, she finally has the time to sit down and do some blogwork already..

How does your mama do the onion planting in egg cartons, lil kitten ... that sounds interesting ... Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteMamarazzi bought thise sprouted onions at a very cheap price..justput them into the "dent/holes" in the egg cartons and water twice daily.
DeleteA very fruitful month leh - nian gao, gardening, reading. It's ok for Mamarazzi to take a break. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon
DeleteI like nian gao when it is fresh, soft and sticky. I used to stick a fork into the nian gao and turn it around and then eat it from the fork. That's what I do when there is no coconut. Congratulations to Mamarazzi for the successful nian gao making!
ReplyDeleteYa..that was what i did at first without coconut.
DeleteYour mamarazzi is truly an iron woman who does so many things from kitchen to the gardens.
ReplyDeleteLol...not as rajin as last year la
DeleteShe has put in so much effort in making the nian gao! Next year can roll out from her home cottage factory to sell the best nian gao. It is very delicious to eat warm with coconut shreds and pinch of salt. Heavens!!!!
ReplyDeleteLet u try first. See pass or not. You tastebuds very sharp

ReplyDeleteThanks Claire. Still owe you nian gao. Lol
DeleteOh, I carried the nian gao this morning when we went to pasar pagi too.
ReplyDeleteMy better half kept telling me not to squash it. Haha.
Oh ya, I saw a nice cracker that I've never seen before - they're surimi (crab stick) crackers for Chinese New Year! What they do is deep fry it but you can still see the red and white sheets. It looks very nice.
Ling said that you made them years ago! Amazing, first time I ever seen them.
Carry the nian gao to pasar? To sell ka? Lol
DeleteYup...Mamarazzi made the crab aticks before. Failed miserably. Hangus. Dunno how to control the fire. Nice to eat but hard to fry.
Arrowhead chips are easier to fry but this year too pricey. Lazy to fry. Else you and Ling will have a shate too

DeleteOh, no her mom bought nian gao and my dear told me to carry it for her coz I had a cloth sling bag for shopping. I was trying not to bump people or things so I put it to my front.
DeleteInteresting! Yeah, I think it's nice to eat also, her mom got for me and my dad. Looking forward to eating it. Arrowhead chips is quite common but this crab sticks is really rare (for me anyway, maybe other people have seen it).
Oh, no worries. I know I'll have a chance to eat your stuff. Random things always appear at the house. :D
Happy to hear you are feeling better. The food looks yummy. Interested in your last shot too as my sister-in-law just told us she is growing three types of onions in her garden, red, green and yellow. I like to eat onions raw and cooked.
ReplyDeleteWe only hv the red onions here
Delete...cooked taste nicer. Onions is good for detox
Hello, I am glad you are feeling better. Take care! Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!
