Thanks to Waze, we found Mango King "house". Outside and along the roadside is full of mango trees.
A look see around...hmm...no luck. No gigantic mango that Mamarazzi heard people say this place is famous for. Not season yet kot?
Only have these normal mango. Not sure the species but looks a bit like those that being sold outside the rice factory. Price here slightly higher than the former.
Apart from mango...they also have other local fruits and some snacks for sell.Cottage industry. Price wise more or less same as in the city.
Mamarazzi was photographing a BIG jackfruit that they were selling. The lady boss saw her. This friendly lady boss told her to go to the back of the house. There are bigger jackfruit.
Mak oi...! Really leh.....see this jackfruit. already bigger than my body and it's still growing leh.
Hanging there can be "punching bag" leh like what Uncle Pete had in his house.
Acah aje....didn't really punch or kick it la. "For illustration purposes" only.
Didn't buy anything here . Lunch time liao. Haven't breakfast yet leh. Tummy rumbling liao. Time to cari makan liao.
Errrrr...but before that...lemme play first ah.... Got a few big "rolls of hay" outside. Kids were playing there, Jumping here and there.
Mamarazzi spotted this. A display set of asparatus to make Kuih Kapit (love letters)
Hmm....any food here? Looks like no food. Selling some snacks and drinks only.
Wah this place really model like the old house leh. The furniture were like those back in the 1960s and 1970s. The Television have "doors" and knobs . No remote control.
Press press...errrr...how to use this phone ah? why got "lubang"(holes) on the numbers geh? I pressed the number nothing happen geh...
Argh? gotta stick my finger in to the hole and turn the dail ah? Ohhh....is that how the word "dial a number" come to be ka? Why we don't have this phone at home? It's fun.
Old kitchen is like that ah? Errrr...where is the stove leh? Why this stove don't have knobs and buttons?
This is the "fridge"? Where is the ice?
The one on the left looks like "mortar and pestle" but so flat geh...I have no idea what both items is for but Mamarazzi knows la.
Am more interested in this old bicycle leh. Can I ride it?
Looks like we can rent bicycle from this place leh. They have so many types here.
Papa! can we rent this to go around? I can drive this one leh. My legs are long enough. No need licence punya is it?
But Mamarazzi say hungry liao Let's go and find food.
Okay la...if anyone of you wish to have a look at this place then the address is :-
Ah Ma House
Jalan Tali Ar 5

Ancient Kind like when I was your age!
ReplyDeleteYou and mamarazzi are from the same era
DeleteI love the bicycles and that car is fabulous! I love mangoes! I am quite a fan of tropical fruits, and pineapple is another I really like, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThen you will love it here :) Loads of local fruits
DeleteAiya, I really thought you were going to show us your grandma's house leh! Interesting this Ah Ma House. The things here are what I was used to when I was small. So nostalgic to see the old TV and telephone.
ReplyDeleteHahaha....That Ah Mah's house not like this one.
DeleteNext time, take me to your Ah Ma House, can? I love places like this....not into malls and all the modern stuff.
ReplyDeletethis is not my ah ma house le.
DeleteAh those were the days!!
ReplyDeletemamarazzi said the same too
Deletewah, at first when Uncle SK read the title of this post, he thought how come in Sekinchan and then suddenly can fly to Ah Ma's house in KT, hehehe, macam like using Doraemon's anywhere door lah.. rupa-rupanya that's this place called Ah Ma's house in Sekinchan, adui~~ :p
ReplyDeleteConfused leh....
Deleteso Mamarazzi did not borong anything from that Mango King?? fuyoh, the Chinese on the signboard reads as "Wah Chai Mango Farm", so was Andy Lau inside there?? looks like not the mango season huh?? and somemore the fruits are selling more expensive in there, Uncle SK thought buying the fruits straight from the orchard should be cheaper?? hmmm, maybe all those gimmicks and makes people thought they are selling at a cheaper price.. anyway, at least took enough photos there lah, the lady boss also friendly to show Mamarazzi and Small Kucing the huge jackfruit, OMG, gigantic!! @.@
ReplyDeleteSurprised leh that Mamarazzi didnt borong anything. Must buy lottery jor. Is it? wah Andy Lau's farm there ka? He got Malaysian wife leh.
DeleteCould be the price higher coz it's straight from the tree. You know sometimes those fruit imported or those sell in pasar actually are not ripe fruit. Then they "peram" till ripe baru sell. Not as sweet as those straight from trees lor
the Ah Ma's house is kind of special leh, they have kept so many antiques inside the house.. Small Kucing must be very excited seeing so many things he has not seen before.. hahaha, Uncle SK cracked up when Small Kucing was trying to press the dial, true enough nowadays all phones are buttons if not touchscreen.. this is a nice place to let the kids see what we have been using in the good old days dei..
ReplyDeletei was very excited when I saw the black color phone. Nowadays even toy phones also tarak this type liao leh. Still dun understand how to use that phone le. Why the dial pusing pusing one
Deletelooks like Sekinchan changed a lot dei.. not only paddy fields but seems like they now have many "tourists attractions".. Uncle SK remembers he went there many many years ago for school trip, only went to see paddy fields there and then nothing else dei.. now got so many factories and museums and orchard open to the public, nice dei~~
ReplyDeleteNowadays, there is even a Sekinchan Paddy Run held.
DeleteSure can attract people to the place.
Got sekinchan Paddy run ah? Bila? Can join oh if the fees not too pricey.,
Deleteya lor now everyone have to cari makan whatever way lor. got tourist come so more cottage industries sprouted lo
Oh! I'd like to explore Ah Ma's house!
ReplyDeletethere are a lot of more photos of old stuffs that Mamarazzi did not post up here. If you wanna see, go her FB and see la
DeletePrices are just okay? Not exactly cheaper than those selling in the market but i supposed its a good short getaway from the hustle and bustle of city
ReplyDeleteOMG !!! I cannot see anything already.. I can ONLY see that jackfruit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletenever seen or tasted a jackfruit. But this could be the biggest one. Is there an championship for big, large, tall or heavy fruits?
