Family "Sesat" Trip To La Familia Orchard, Sekinchan

Seven early, eight early in the morning Papa and me kena Mamarazzi "kick" to wake up. Say wanna go buy rice wor as month end coming soon. Have to stock up properly just in case.......

Buy rice mah buy rice lor...why wake up so early leh. Hypermarket and supermarket not open yet leh.

Mana tau Mamarazzi "mood" come again. Said wanna go to the factory to buy rice wor. Papa said okay la...anything la.

Huh? Site C? Sound like one of those Sci-Fic movie geh. Said wanna go have breakfast ...but but.... "sesat". Missed a turn somewhere.  Maybe these small wooden house have nice breakfast leh , said Mamarazzi. But I was very "atas" I said wanna go makan at makan place that have "doors" .

Weird...along the road ..saw a lot of these "tree bark" ...was it tree barks? Wondering what's the purpose of it being placed at the road side. To dry it? To prevent grass from growing?

Arrived at the orchard as they open for business.

Peekaboo ! I see you hiding there! What are you doing ah, Mamarazzi? Curi Passion Fruit under there ka?

Wah so many pomelo fruits up there. Please don't drop on my head ah

Ah...geli la.....the fruit will drop or not ah? Later kena scolding from the orchard owner leh.

 What's that?

Okie....find a lower branch....so low that we had to squat down to snap photo of the fruit. Here it's called "Jambu Air".

A search in Wikipedia  shows Jambu Air is " Syzygium aqueum is a species of brush cherry tree. Its common names include Water Cherry, Watery Rose Apple, and Lau Lau; names like "water apple" and "bell fruit" may refer to any species of Syzygium grown for its fruit."

Mamarazzi loves the  flower. Looks a lot like bright fireworks.

 Clown me.

 Guess what is this?

Wah..... as big as Mamarazzi palm leh. It's Ciku. Also called Sapodilla. Very sweet tasting and fragrant when it's ripe.

Saw a "baby" Ciku. Ahem ahem......very sharp .

After a wild run around the orchard we came back to the main entrance. The boss just starting to set up the stalls there. Loads of lovely fresh fruits being sold there.

Mamarazzi bought  banana and jambu air. The banana was not fully ripe yet. We ate that the next day. It was very fragrant and unlike those that are being sold in the hypermarket. Probably coz it's being fresh and ripe on the tree, hence the taste is nicer.

Same goes for the jambu Air. Very juicy and sweet with a slight tingle of sourness. So nice to eat that. Very crunchy to bite on.

Saw some freshly plucked Sweet Corn.

RM10 for 7 . Asked the boss to help choose 7 for us.

Mamarazzi was interested at this.

But I was more interested at this strange looking "kuih". Hungry leh.

Mamarazzi bought one piece for me and one for papa. Hmmm....nice leh...one piece is not enough leh. She gave me money and I went and buy some more. Papa said he had been looking for this kuih long time already. It had a mixed taste. Inside was glutinous rice, dried shrimps and red bean. Sweet and salty in the same kuih.

While I went to buy the Kuih, Mamarazzi discovered that a ring from the camera was missing. Must have dropped in the orchard. Went down to look for it but unable to fine. Left phone number with the Boss  in case he saw it. Anyway....not much hope on that.

Sorry ya...I dont have the address of this  place but found the Facebook page for it. Here is the map to the place .
