Mamarazzi's Last Minute Roast Pork

This year, Papa very gungho on celebrating Chinese New Year. Borong mandarin oranges la, then some more kept reminding Mamarazzi to buy Chinese Leek and some auspicious vegetable to bring back to Trengganu.

Aiyo....Monday asked Mamarazzi whether can find Roast Pork or not. Alamak....near Chinese New Year leh...Roast Pork price jumping higher that a frog leh.

Wokay la wokay la....Mamarazzi said lets go Jaya Grocer. Bought two strips of Pork belly.

While on the way home, she google. Aiyak...need wine ah..tarak wine....okay...again her pakai hentam recipe . Looked at various blogs and "agak-agak"(guess) the ingredients la.

Chopped garlic, 5 spices powder, salt and white pepper.

Boiled the two strips of pork belly to get rid of the smell and also make it easier to poke holes on the skin.

After that she was like a mad woman used a fork kept poking holes on the top of the skin. The more holes the better it seems. Then rubbed salt on top of the skin. Balance, rub the rest of the ingredients onto the meat.

Put the whole thing into the fridge and let it dry .

The next morning she woke up 5am and decided to roast the pork. I was having fever the whole night. She can;t sleep. So might as well do something productive , right?

Aiyak....a bit burnt but....not bad la considering that it's a pakai hentam recipe. The roast pork was a tad too salty . Too much salt but nevermind la ...coz going to stir fry with chinese leek and also to fry noodles..the saltiness won't be felt la.

As for me...the next morning I layu liao lor....fever....so Mamarazzi said okay la...skip school la. Haiz...my teacher sure think that I purposely ponteng school. I was quite worried . But the mamarazzi said go see doctor and get a medica chit so the teacher sure won;t punish me la.

  11. Wah the roast pork looks really good! Boiling it first really makes it easier to poke holes? That's a smart idea! But will it make the skin harder to dry afterwards, hence not crispy?
