It had been quite sometime since I encountere...
There were quite a lot of interesting fruits and vegetables to be seen especially at the Natives Products Section.
From top left clockwise : Terung Dayak(Yellow Eggplant) only found in Sabah and Sarawak, Bamboo shoots, Midin (ferns ), Tempoyak and Cincaluk.
Lovely beads ornaments.
Then Mamarazzi spotted the "Paper Wrapped Chicken" that Uncle Arthur meant.
Choose one and the old lady will weight it for you.
Eeny~ Minnie~ Mieni~ Moe~ you're the one that I shall bring home...opsss...cannot ah? Cannot bring home ka?
(Photos snapped by Auntie Claire)
Uiks...why these are cheaper? RM10 per bird. Me trying some "bird talk" with them. But Papa said guess this gives a new meaning to "Talk Cock".
WOOoooooAAAaa....what is THAT!?
Wiggly Sago worms! It's consider a delicacy to some at this part of the world. Not cheap leh. RM10 for 16 big fat and juicy Sago worm. Smaller ones costs the same but they gave you 20 worms.
Best eaten alive.
Hmmm since we were going for dinner at Uncle Arthur's place...well....it's a custome when someone invite you for dinner, it is polite to bring an extra dish. Sago Worms kira(counts) or not ah? Got me a bucket of Sago Worms to go.
Next we came to dried produce section. They have all sorts here. There were dried shrimps, dried anchovies, salted fish and etc. Auntie Claire wanted to look for dried fish roe but it was not in season.
Ah Mah asked to buy Haybee (Dried shrimps) if the price are like RM30-RM40 per kg. However, the price here ranges around RM60 to RM70 per kg.
But one thing noted is that the dried shrimps here are pretty unusual. These are the ones that is usually found in KL.
While these are the ones found in Sibu.
The Uncle selling the Haybee said this is their famous "Ikan Terubuk". A type of salted fish that is unique there. RM22/kg.
I think you know what happen next, right?
Can you see the Uncle's happy face?
Can you guess how many "Ikan Terubuk" in the box?
Phew!!! Sure the car and our hotel room gonna stink like mad. Next time, must visit some place that don't have Wet Market that sells Salted Fish punya.
It's Sunday. Are you planning to have Dim Sum with your family? Back in January, Papa brought us to have Dim Sum at this famous Dim Sum restaurant in Damansara Jaya.
The place was pretty clean and well kept. There was a buzzer sort of thingy at the table for us to press when we needed service. Naughty me. Went and press it a few times without reason.
Mamarazzi was hungry so she ordered their glutinous fried rice. Not to her expectation as it was quite oily and not warm enough.
I don't want also la. Papa love glutinous rice. Let Papa finish it.
However, the above dim sum tasted good to Mamarazzi. Sorry, she forgotten the name of this dim sum
The skin of the Fried Dumpling was rather thick though the meat inside was okay.
Same goes for the steamed dumplings.
I had a bowl of porridge. I like the crunchy 'bihun" on top. The porridge it self was a bit salty for Mamarazzi but Papa had a taste seems okay aje. Different people have different taste buds.
It was very funny to see how Papa and Mamarazzi ate these Siu Loong Pau. There is soup inside the Pau and the skin was rather thin. One wrong move and the soup would burst out. Well, two burst... hahahaha.
Char Siew Pau(BBQ Pork). Mamarazzi really love the skin of the Pau. Don't why the skin of the Pau that she made won't burst out like these. These were pretty fluffy.
This Siew Mai was real good. There were some medium size prawns in it. Hmmm....guess Auntie CC can't eat this lor.
This is another Dim Sum that both Papa and Mamarazzi liked. It was Scallop Dumplings.
Har Gao(Prawn Dumplings) were good too although Mamarazzi would preferred if the skin was thinner.
This one tasted ok. Don't know the name.
Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun
Mamarazzi likes the tea here. It's very fragrant unlike some other restaurant.
Please bear in mind, all these are our personal opinion and taste. As each person is born with different taste, you will have to pay this restaurant a visit to decide if you like the food here.
Here is the address : 59,61 and 63 Jalan SS22/19, Damansara Jaya, 47300 Petaling Jaya.
Mamarazzi liked the Masak Hitam that Uncle Arthur bought very much. Hence just before we fly back, he pass a bunch of Liza's brand masak hitam paste for Mamarazzi to take home.
Once home, she can't wait to try out the Masak Hitam paste.
According to the recipe by Auntie Lucy, usually she would add an onion (sliced) to enhance the flavour. Fry the onion till it's fragrant. Then throw in the meat and the Masak Hitam paste. Stir it a bit. Then add water. It's that easy!
Jeng! Jeng! Masak Hitam is ready to be makan.
Me again? Mamarazzi's masak hitam can eat one or not ah? Duno got screw up again or not.
Errr ...I think I better stick to my plain white rice enough la.
Papa said nice but not the Chicken not marinated long enough. Hmmmm ...what? have to marinate one ah? Oppsie...Mamarazzi did not marinate the Chicken meat.
The taste of the paste was very authentic. Great to go with rice or bread.
