One Cent Breakfast

One Cent Cafe?

Everything here cost 1 sen ka? Nope? Hmm....wondering how the name of this Cafe came about.

Well...here comes our first meal of the day. Uncle Arthur always orders the nicest food.

Kampua Noodles for me. Hmmm...noticed that it come together with a piece of cili and sauce. Not sure whether it's soya sauce or vinegar coz I didn't taste it once I saw got cili in it.

Enough lah..no more photo la. Readers gonna puke seeing me eat so many times Kampua noodles eventhough I love the noodles.

The Kopi-O here was not bad.

Red Wine Mi Suah. Mamarazzi liked this one a lot. The taste of wine was quite strong as compared to the other one that we had the other day

Another round of Pian Sip.

Hahaha...Auntie Claire finally got a taste of the Sarawak Laksa.  As for me, I preferred Kampua.

Here is the address of the Cafe if you are interested to try out the food here : No.2&4 G/F, Jalan Pedada 20A2 (Lot 9), 96000 Sibu, Malaysia.

While we were there, the service was good and place was clean.

A big Thank You to Auntie Claire for the hearty breakfast!

Supper at Taman Muhibbah Hawker Center (Food Court), Sibu

After sending Mommy Ling to airport, we head on to meet up with Uncle Arthur and family at Taman Muhibbah Food Court.

First thing that we noticed apart from the food was the place was well maintain. Although it was drizzling a bit while we were there, we did not get wet at all. Ample shaded area.

Wah...we were greeted with this upon arrival. Fried Brinjal with meat floss. Papa liked it.

For me, I don't know why but I can't help popping these Siew Mai to my mouth.

I had three of these! and I can tell you the size was pretty big. Not like those here in KL.

We also had these..or rather Papa had these. Both Mamarazzi and me can't eat anymore.

Aunite Claire and Jie Jie had this ABC(Air Batu Campur-Mixed Ice)

I had this. It was supposed to be mixed fruit but not much fruit in it.

While eating this, I was trying to scheme my way to sit next to the pretty Jie Jie.

Meantime, Mamarazzi fell in love with this 3 Layer Tea. She liked it so much that she had two glasses of this.

The result was sleepless night. End up finishing reading Thrity Umrigar's "If Today Be Sweet" that very night.

(photo taken from Auntie Claire's Blog)

Of course lah sweet coz I managed to 'worm' my way in and sat next to the pretty Jie Jie.

It was so sweet till Mamarazzi secretly fed me this Herbal Tea with Peppermint, I also didn't noticed the weird taste. Mamarazzi said it tasted like drinking tooth paste. Papa, like me, didn't mind the taste. Well, at least it's good for me minus the bitter taste that is usually found in herbal tea.

Well, stay tune for our next day adventure!

Before She Fly Home...

Mommy Ling came to Sibu later than us by a day. Oh boy! She missed out quite a lot of things.

Just before she fly back to KL, we managed to go for a short tour of the city. We went to the Gateway of Sibu, The Horoscope Garden and  The Rajang Esplanade.

But most important of all ....we managed to find Noodle House once again thanks to GPS and she managed to "tapau" some Kompia home.

Mamarazzi was amazed to see how they packed the Kompia so nicely. Aim to "tapau" some home too.

While we were there, we had our 2nd round of lunch.

Papa ordered a bowl of Century Eggs Porridge. Hmm...not bad.

Then Kor Kor Andy's eyes very sharp. He saw this good bargain.

Three sets of Kompia which consist of Curry Chicken with Kompiah(3pcs), Pork Belly with Kompia (3pcs), Minced Meat with Kompia (3 pcs) and 2 Horlick Gozilla for only RM21-90.

Among the three, this is Papa's favourite. Can you guess what Kompia?

Later that evening, we went to have an early dinner at Restaurant Ruby. Auntie Claire's family and Mommy Ling haven't been there before.

Hmm...must certainly let them try the Fried Mi Suah which I liked a lot.

Although Uncle Arthur was unable to join us for dinner, he took the time and trouble to guide us on what to ordered.

We ordered Pandan Chicken too. This, according to Uncle Arthur is one of their signature dish. Indeed it was very aromatic.

Mamarazzi was surprised that the restaurant took the trouble to de-boned the chicken. Sedapnya....

Next comes Midin. The dish that was in Auntie Claire's Wishlist.

Uncle Arthur also recommended us to order their Sizzling Deer Meat with Spring Onion and ginger.

Due to miscommunication(you know lah...Mamarazzi's Mandarin is half past six only), the Sizzling part was missing. Only have normal deer meat with spring onion and ginger.

Nevertheless, the taste was good and the meat was tender. Portion was very large too.

Mamarazzi was rather surprised as the bill comes up to RM71.20 only (food plus drinks) considering the large portion of food given. The Bosswaived the RM1.20 and took RM70 only.

After the hearty meal, it was time to say "See Ya Again, Mommy Ling. And you 'slowly' wait for Papa to post good food photo in FB for you to see and drool ya" ....and off we head on to our 6th meal of the day

Payung Cafe, Sibu

For our lunch, we decided to try out Payung Cafe which was recommended by Uncle Arthur.

Wah...Uncle Arthur's name very famous here leh. Mentioned aje his name, one of the Bosses gave us this complimentary Pomelo Salad.

Mmm...Mamarazzi loves it a lot. She is not saying this just because it's free. The Salad was real nice. Suit her taste.

Mamarazzi had the Anjung Smoothie(Red). She didn't like it much. If not mistaken, Papa had the Cucumber Juice(Green).

Kor Kor Andy had the Durian Smoothie. Should be very nice coz saw he syok syok drank it.

Auntie Claire ordered this Durian Ice Cream

But I "taxed" most of the Ice Cream for myself

It was REAL good. There was real durian pulp in it instead of syrup.

If not mistaken, this is Chocolate Mint Ice Cream. Papa like but I preferred Auntie Claire's Durian Ice cream

This Banana Jelly Ice Cream was highly recommended by Uncle Arthur and it certainly was very good. Nice blend of Jelly and Ice Cream when it melted.

Ooooh...this Mushroom Roll is to die for. Super yummy. The skin was crusty with some cheese on top and the inside was very delicious. Not sure what was inside.

Mamarazzi is not a fan of Otak-Otak but this one is something different. Can taste that there is a lot of fish meat in the Otak-Otak.

This one is another highly recommended dish by Uncle Arthur. Belimbing Prawn with Rice. You can opt to have this with Spaghetti but Mamarazzi preferred rice.

All I can say is that Mamarazzi liked this dish very much and she wonders if Uncle Arthur able to bodek the Boss for the recipe or not. It's so delicious and very appetising.

Papa had Payung Fish Rice. Not sure about the fish as Papa said there were a lot of bones. Hence Mamarazzi did not eat it. She only took the gravy and taste great with her rice too.

Mamarazzi feels that the food here are sort of like an "updated" version of the traditional dishes. However, it was done in away that it had enhanced the feel of the  dish. It would certainly attract more people to try out the food here.

Here is the address if you wish to have a try  : Payung Cafe, No 20F, Lanang Road, Sibu . Tel  016 8906061, 016 8937614 (at the back of Kingwood Hotel Multi Level Carpark)

Mochi Shopping at Big Thumb Cake House, Sibu

Don't know how did it went about that we came to this place but certainly I did not regret it.

Wah...just finished 2nd breakfast, still wanna eat some more? So many buns and things here leh.

Someone said this place is famous for their mochi. Auntie Quay Po Cooks bought a packet and opened it for us to try.

Mmm...I liked it very much. Eeee...I spotted Angry Bird Cake. Too bad it's not for sale.

After "borong-ing", we head back to the Hotel as Auntie Quay Po Cooks and her bestie were flying home in the afternoon.

These were just some of the stuffs that we borong-ed.

Mamarazzi spotted these mini mochi in the fridge at the Big Thumb and bought a packet for me. RM6.20. There are four flavour...red bean, lotus paste, peanut and pandan.

Hmm... which one to choose first leh?

Mmm...can't decide which one I like best.

Mamarazzi said am greedy and getting big headed. No lah...am only getting Big Foot mah...See..I can even wear Papa's shoes liao.

Sam U Claypot Restaurant, Petaling Jaya (Revisited)

It was nearly a quarter of my lifetime since the last time we've been here. No joke. I know today is 1st of April and I won't be playing a joke on you. I am only 4 years old and it was slightly more than 1 year since the last time we ate here.

The place is still pretty packed. Not one of those place that mushroom up one day and disappear the next.

What shall I have for dinner?

First thing must order drinks. Very thirsty. Fresh Soya Bean and Chinese Tea for Papa and Mamarazzi.

I am sure someone in Sibu and my friendly neighbour who have two beautiful daughters will drool over this.

Red Wine oink oink. Portion was small but the meat was chunky. Very filling to the tummy.

Papa was doubtful about this in the beginning. Kerabu Kaki Ayam. Doesn't look like much but it packs a punch. Mamarazzi still scratching her head wondering how they make it so yummy.

Claypot Seafood Taufu. Purposely ordered this one since they know that I can't take much spicy food and that I like gravy with y rice.

Quite big pot though we ordered small portion. Had quite a hard time finishing this. Maybe coz full from the oink oink?

Fried Kangkung. Sigh...though it tasted good but we over ordered again. Can't finish. Hmmm...Maybe Auntie Little Bird will be tempted to try out this place. Bet she would like the Kangkung and the Kerabu.

Here is the address Sam U Restaurant No: 12, Jalan Tengah, Petaling Jaya. Tel : 03-7956 2262
