Rainy morning today...time to dig up old "basi"(stale) photos that haven't be posted up . Papa and Mamarazzi went to SS2 few months ago. ..yup...it was that "stale". Lunch time. Not sure what to eat so tembak again.
This time they tembak Kee Hiong Bak-Kut-Teh. Said to originate from Klang.
When time to order, Mamarazz was wondering...huh...order this or not ah...coz the name of the dish sound like ahem ahem in Cantonese.
They end up ordering a claypot of mixed BKT la. Portion not bad la. Soup wise, Mamarazzi would prefer to have stronger herbal taste.
When the waitress came with these two containers ..one cili and and garlic, Mamarazzi was puzzled. Why the bottle of the cili container have white color.. Maybe that one they used to put garlic kot?
The rice was nice. they put some fried shallots on top to make it more aromatic.
Total bill come up to RM37. But that was pre-GST time la. Now not sure whether the price had increased or not
Hmmm...o wonder so many people eating BKT here though it was a hot day. Nearby shop have planted pineapple plant. Seems Pineapple plants are said to bring in good Feng Shui,
Here is the address to the BKT shop :-
. 72, Jalan SS 2/67, SS 2, 47300 Petaling Jaya,
So long I have not eaten Bak Kut Teh. I also must eat them with strongest herbal aroma with plenty of red chillies and garlic. Baru shiok lah.
ReplyDeleteSo this shop knows how to add in fried shallots! Not many shops know this way or they are simply stingy to give free shallots.
Shallot now wanna fry very mahal oh. Ya lor the stronger the soup taste the nicer
DeleteI love BKT! I sometimes very suspicious of the containers they use to put the chilli/garlic. Dunno whether they got wash it or not, That white-white thing in the cili container I hope it is not fungus.
ReplyDeleteLook properly liao. Not fungus. Rather it was garlic. Think they minced tye garlic too fine till it stained the glass
Deleteis that claypot filled with meat?.. it looks really appealing to me... and it comes with rice haha.. here in our country .. it feels like a meal will not be completed without pairing them with rice ! Cheers!
DeleteYes it is. And it comes with herbal soup
DeleteI go KL, ask your mama bring me go eat the best BKT, boleh? wink wink...
ReplyDeleteNo need wink wink....u come first
DeleteWhen weather is crazy, we also go crazy, want to ear heaty and fries food. Haha.

Deleteoooh.. Uncle SK doesn't see this post as a basi post leh, but instead it's Mamarazzi and Paparazzi pak tor post lah, hahahaha.. both go chang toi geok having BKT while Small Kucing was in school.. err, lunch time woh, where was Small Kucing ah?? should finish school by then, maybe got tuition kot??
ReplyDeleteSchool lo...sobs sobs
DeleteKee Heong ah, the name sounds familiar and the logo also looks familiar leh, macam have seen that somewhere often before woh.. but for sure Uncle SK has not been there to makan BKT before lah, he is not a fans of BKT mah, probably many many years also never makan BKT outside already.. but Uncle SK's father cooks BKT at home like once every week or fortnight lah, that's where he has BKT, hehehehe!! :p
ReplyDeleteFamous..so should be seen before la the logo
DeleteKNS, those names of the dishes really "chim" leh, Uncle SK really has no idea but he has to refer to the chinese and then understand what they are trying to say.. Tua Kut means big bones there, and this sounds like Teochew.. but for the Kacat, it says pork trotter in chinese, Uncle SK has no clue what's the linkage.. so Mamarazzi sure just tikam which gambar is the largest?? :D
ReplyDeleteWondering what dialect is that. Hokkien?
Deleteoh, got browned shallots, that's nice, and looks like they fried themselves rather that just bought off the shelf in supermarket oh.. the chili still fresh lah, not because they are rotting hence Mamarazzi saw the white thingy in the bottle?? hehehe.. RM37 considered okay lah hor?? Uncle SK doesn't know the price now, since he rarely goes to eat BKT also..
ReplyDeleteLong time I never go to SS2 to look properly at those shops there so never notice this BKT shop. Ahem ahem in Cantonese is what? Kacat? Lipas ah?
ReplyDeleteThe food looks very nice, and the rice...mmmmm. :)
ReplyDeleteSo long no eat BKT liao, now see your post makes me lau hau sui pulak.. I usually love fatty pork, pai kuat, intestines and char kuey, lots of them, yumyum..
