Birthday at AVANI Sepang Gold Coast Resort

For our birthdays...yup..ours as in Papa's and mine, we went for a short staycation at AVANI Sepang Gold Coast Resort.

Got a free stay from there. Not due to blogging . They invited Papa to go listen to their Vacation Club programme and gave him a one night stay voucher. However, the voucher stated tat it is not applicable for weekend, public holidays and school holidays. That leaves not many dates that we can choose from. Well, ngum ngum our birthday falls on Chinese New Year and school extended holiday for us. 

Well, Papa tried to book the date for our stay la. E-mailed them early but after two week still no reply from them. Called up the number given in the voucher, nobody pick up the line. 

Mamarazzi google and found another number which is not stated in the voucher. Called up that number and yahoo...someone pick-up.  

It seems that the person-in-charge missed out reading Papa's email or something. On the same day, he received reply from their customer service. So sad...the date we wanted was not available. 

Funny thing about the e-mail was it was dated 9th February but at the bottom there , the man asked Papa to reply his email before 6th February. Must have been a typo error as Papa could never foreseen to reply an e-mail that have not been sent out, right? Anyway, Papa replied and Mamarazzi called up. The guy-in-charge was busy. She left a message for him to read Papa's email .

Waited 3 days....this time Papa shoot a not so polite e-mail to them liao. Mamarazzi called up and managed to get the guy-in-charge. Surprise..surprise...there was a cancellation and now there is a room available for us. Hmm.....could it be the saying "good things comes to those who waits?"

 On my birthday, Papa and Mamarazzi surprised me by saying that they are bringing me to stay in a hotel. Yup...I have been asking them to bring me stay in hotel for sometime.

The room was lovely. Splendid view. Big flat screen TV

 Very spacious. Just nice for a family stay. 

 Outside was pretty windy. 

 You know what? They even have bicycle for their guests to use as each of the villas are quite far from the Lobby and Club house. Guests can opt to take the buggy or they can cycle around.

After checking-in, I drag Mamarazzi out of our villa for cycling. Kinda sad coz all the kids bicycle doesn't have training wheels. Mamarazzi said it's alright. It's quite low. She'll help me to balance. She sat behind of me while I "kayuh"(pedal) . Yup.....I had to carry Mamarazzi heavy bum behind of me.

Pretty soon, she jump of the cycle and HEY! I can cycle! WITHOUT training wheel. At first it was wobbly and pretty soon I was zooming around so fast till Mamarazzi couldn't catch up with me.

Yay! on my 7th birthday, I learnt how to cycle without training wheel!

 Sweat....cycling really work up a sweat. I wanted to jump into the infinity swimming pool there but Mamarazzi said no swimming suit cannot.

 That night I really enjoyed myself oh. Since it;s my birthday, I can watch unlimited time of TV and play unlimited games in the new Galaxy Tab.

 Got delicious Nasi Lemak. 

 Which I ate in bed. Pampered to the max. 

 Next morning, I drag Mamarazzi up early. I wanna go cycling again. Mamarazzi pulak dragged Papa up. He had to follow us.

 Come , let's explore. 

 There are mini cricket place for the kids to play with. 

 Trampoline.

 Golf 

 Errrrrr....kucing korek lubang nak poo poo......

 Nice place to be. Bet in the evening there will be loads of games to play. 

 Before going off, Mamarazzi "forced" me to snap some photos...ahem...not macho la......why snap photos with flowers....

 Forced smile. 

 Ah...this one I like........ambulance buggy....bee bo bee boo...

 Pretty soon it was time to check out. I'll miss this place. Really fun place to be . Mamarazzi's feedback is that they need to hire more people to man the telephone and reply e-mails. And in their Free Stay voucher they should also put in more than one phone number. Unanswered phone and e-mails may lead to people thinking that this Vacation Club is just another scam and gives bad reputation to the company.

Chinese New Year Open House 2015

 

This year Mamarazzi said lazy to do open house. But then Papa said easy mah...no need to cook la. Already have loads of goodies from Trengganu leh. Got the famous Lemang Kijal, got the Fish Karipap, got the ketupat.....ahem ahem...eh...ni Hari Raya or Chinese New Year leh? Oh well.....masyarakat majmuk, right? Just make steamboat la, Papa said. And fry bihun.

That's why early Saturday morning we headover to Pantai Remis...the one in Jeram...ah...not the other one in Perak. 

Wanna get some fresh Lokan to make Baked Lokan as in Cockle, Clams and Lokan Galore

 There were loads of fresh seafood being sold there. Crabs, bamboo clams, mussel, clams, lokan, Lala, fish and some unidentified fresh seafood.

This is the place to buy cheap and fresh seafood .

 Even have these "Chut Chut" siput. At least that is what we call it la. Dunno the English name. 

 

Papa spotted some oysters. Bought some. 

 Came home, Mamarazzi started to chop and clean all the vegetable. Took out the Fishballs and stuffs that we bought from Tj Sepat(that's another story). Heat up the lemang, ketupat and karipap.

The lemang and Karipap were great hits among friends coz they had never had fish karipap before. And the lemang taste much better than those found in KL. Cheap too. RM10 for 4 lemang. Where else can you get such cheap lemang?

The fresh oysters were not that great. had a hard time opening the oyster....all sort of apparatus were used...including hammer...that is till one of Papa's friend arrived and he used a butter knife to open them. So easy leh.

It seems not really fresh. Fresh ones should be white in color. Oh well....just throw into steamboat and cook la instead of eating it raw.

 We (the kids) had a great time with the ice cream maker. The night before Mamarazzi freezes some dragon fruits and banana.

During the party, we had banana and dragon fruit ice cream. Pure frozen fruit with no sugar added. It was delicious.

It seems like not only human, celebrate Chinese New Year. Plants also wanna celebrate. Mamarazzi spotted one of her air plant which previously was green in color had turned rainbow color . It was so lovely.

Happy Chap Goh Mei 2015

 Happy Chap Goh Mei everyone! *sweep sweep cobweb* Alamak..... so fast Chinese New Year going to be over liao. More than 2 weeks didn't blog.

Loads of "basi"(Stale) posts. Guess, better blog about CNY first lo...though Christmas stale post yet to go up.

Bad horsey.....before handover to the Goat, he also wanna kick me one last time. Just before Chinese New Year Eve, I came down with high fever and flu. Over the counter medicine not working. Hence, have to go see doctor. Doctor said aiya....the dosage Mamarazzi gave me for the over the counter medicine was not enough leh. Coz am nig size. Gotta take higher dosage.

Well, goody....before dawn of Chinese New Year Eve , Mamarazzi woke me up. Fed me medicines and off we went on a long journey to Ah Mah's house. Took 6-7 hours but I slept through most of the journey. 

 The reunion dinner was a quiet affair this year. Kinda good la coz Ah Mah is not getting any younger. Low key affair would be best.

First day of CNY, go to the temple and Papa pray to the ancestors. This year maybe am getting older ....it kinda creep me out when mentioned about spirits and ghosts. I sorta got cultural shock here as all along I was told that we pray to Lord God and Jesus is the son of God. Then what about all these other Gods?

Mamarazzi said later I will learn about different religion found in Malaysia and the world.

Hahaha........noticed my T-shirt and may face? Similar?

 

It was a wet first day of Chinese New year. Only managed to snap a few photos before it started to pour.

 went back to Ah mah's house and we had a 1Malaysia breakfast. Only found in Malaysia.

Ah Mah fried and steamed the Nian Gao that Mamarazzi made. Yummy.  I had putu mayam that Papa bought from the pasar malam. I ate that with sugar while the adult had it with the Salmon Curry Fish head which Ah Kong cooked.

Ah Mah also bring out some Akok...a type of malay speciality kuih which is found in Trengganu.Nice hor?

Second day of Chinese New Year, my Kaw Kaw's family came back from the in-laws place. Ah Mah made her special "rojak"....Think Phong Hong will drool on this. Betul tak?

 Papa bought a small birthday cake. 

 Simple dinner with fried chicken and noodles. No Mi Sua....maybe if I wink wink ...someone will send some to me? hahaha

 Aha....one for the album....all the birthday boys and girls . Yup.. My kaw Kaw family also have birthdays in January and February. Ah Mah's birthday is in January. But most special is Papa's and mine birthday. Ours are one day apart. Mamarazzi said i purposely refused to come out on Papa birthday coz I don't wanna share birthday cake with Papa.

Gong Xi Fa Cai

 Gong Xi Fa Cai , Ang Pau Nah Lai... LOL....My teacher taught us how to make this Lion last week. Nice?

Chinese New Year coming lo.

Flowers are blooming everywhere. Saw a lovely bloom from the garden yesterday.

Anyway, we'll be going on a blog holiday Starting from tomorrow. Nah...we'll still be in town but gonna zoom here and there. Will update after my birthday...yup...yup....my birthday is coming soon...Yipee...got a surprise for me wor.....dunno what leh.

Mamarazzi's Beauty & The Beast Chinese New Year Meat Floss Rolls

 This year ah....I think Mamarazzi gone crazy. Kept frying and experimenting. Previous years , her usual CNY cookies were Ngaku(Arrowhead Chips), Kuih Ros(honeycomb Biscuits) and Pineapple tarts. Even dinner also fry chicken for me to eat.

Now....fry Ngaku la....but experiment by adding black pepper and salt. I love it. Another friend also love it. Said nicer than the plain ones.

Followed by making the Nian Gao la.

What  project next? Well, she happens to saw Nancy's blog. Fuiyoh...her Chicken Meat Floss rolls looks easy to make leh . Just roll and fry, right?

 Initially she thought wanna make Dried Shrimps Rolls but as she was heading to the kitchen, she spotted a small packe of leftover meat floss on the dinng table. Not much left...about 100gm ..maybe.

 Pour out bit by bit. 

Dig in the freezer, saw got some leftover popiah skin from last Popiah session. *Gosh...she really needs to clean the fridge. So many leftover here and there*

 Anyway, to cut the story short, she got a pair of scissor to cut the popiah skin into smaller pieces and start rolling.

Wokay....looks simple enough but this rolling thingy really boring la. At least with frying ngaku she can do other stuffs while waiting for it to fry.

Roll halfway...huh...still got ah....roll some more...huh...still some more ah....

Okay la.....first time mah...ugly a bit la.....After like one whole hour, baru got this tiny tub. Time to get frying.

Only get this small tub....adoi...not even 10mins can finish eating liao. As you can see, the colors not so nice.Some too dark and some are like 鍾無艷; one side dark one side fair. Coz the darn rolls refused to turn over to be fried properly.....

Anyway...yahoo....one more experiment over liao...what's next?

Chinese New Year Projects

Okay...Ngaku Chips done....and these are the result of Mamarazzi's experiments. All shapes and sizes...okay...Looks pretty ugly but finally managed to make 1-2 that did not leak. The rest are like wearing bandages.

The one in the plate duno what happened. Refused to set eventhough others from the same batch had set.

Closed shop for Nian Gao this year. Now headache what to do with the ugly ones. Throwaway too sayang. Ownself eat  ...cannot habis...want diabetic meh...Gosh....the amount of sugar needed for the Nian Gao is really scary. No matter how much 'less sugar' put in, it's still way too much to consume a lot. 

 Don't be alarmed if mamarazzi went "missing" from online next few days coz yesterday she spotted something she keen to experiment. All thanks to Nancy. Hopefully will be successful la and not like the crabstick project that she made two years ago.

Another project. D.I.Y. Money is never enough. Better D.I.Y la instead of buying since after Chinese New Year the decorations will be thrown away anyway. 

The D.I.Y. idea came from Xiao Ying . We received CNY card and goodies from her yesterday. The card was just a normal card but she decorated it nicely with plum flowers and chop with nice chops, making it stand out. Thank you very much Xiao Ying.

well, that's all for now. Back to the project.....opsss....ya one more thingy....

 

Got myself a McD Vanilla Sundae Cone coz my Ting Xie(spelling) 100% correct. But when Mamarazzi saw the book....cheh...simple words...already learn much harder words in kindergarten leh. No wonder can get 100%.

Restaurant M...Something Something

 Another 'basi' post. So basi till Mamarazzi forgotten the restaurant name. only remember it's M something.....MX MJ or what. Die moe?? AUNTIE CLAIRE!!!! what's the restaurant name ah????

Seems the noodles here is very popular. Minimum waiting time is 40 minutes. That night we waited for nearly a hour. 

 No fear coz Auntie Claire have thought of everything. She ordered some 'munchy' for us to bite on while waiting for the noodles.

Papa and Mamarazzi simply heart this dish. Got a long Chinese name which Mamarazzi can't recall. It's made of octopus arms. Blanched and added some nice sauce on top.

 Next was these Lala.

 

 Kiasu me....kept stuffing more and more lala into my mouth.

 Finally, it's our turn for the noodles. First comes this Wat Tan Hor. Not much Keoy Teow in it but the soup/gravy taste very good. One bowl certainly not enough

 Fried Yee Mee . A bit like Hokkien Mee but without the thick gravy. Also have a lot of seafood and meat and *sobsobs* vegetables too

 Last comes fried bihun. By then Mamarazzi full already lor.  

Fast fast go back to the hotel . Mamarazzi wanted to zzzz already but I wanted to open my pressie.  A bear coin box.

Whoever that thought up this coin box very clever la. Got 3 coin sloths. This one Papa put, that one Mamarazzi put and last....I put.  And end of the day, all the monies belongs to ME! Clever hor?
