Sri Petaling Steamboat Palace, Seri Petaling Again

Earlier of this month we went to Sri Petaling Steamboat Palace at Seri Petaling. We had a great time the first round.

This round Papa arranged for dinner with his old friends pulak. Go to Buka Puasa Buffet sure very crowded and expensive. Cheapest would be around RM50++.

Well, since we got such a great service from Sri Petaling Steamboat Palace last time, it was decided we go makan here again.

Auntie Little Bird was there too coz Mamarazzi wanna kejar hutang. Must kejar her till pants also tanggal.

A friend got "Change of Plan" book, written by Auntie Little Bird. She asked Mamarazzi to help her get Auntie Little Bird's autograph. Must tell Auntie Little Bird tak baik to procrastinate. Hutang must bayar fast fast. Bring along signing pen for her already!

 Wah...today so many crabs!..

 I want one.

Huh...see only ah...cannot touch? Ya hor...later crab crab kiap my birdie fingers.

This round we had Tomyam and Herbal Soup base.

Eh? Two only? What about me? Papa one, Mamarazzi one...me leh?

I thought I ganas. But Auntie Little Bird more ganas.  Haven't arrived yet, already tell Mamarazzi to order grill crabs for her.

Luckily after Papa's friends arrived, we ordered more crabs. Steam crabs and Grilled Crabs.

Aiks! what  happened to all the crabs just now? Gone into our tum tum? *Hope the taukeh of the shop don't read this post*

Noticed not many tables ordered the crabs. Maybe they didn't know it's included in the Buffet?

(Update 10/10/2011- Heard from a friend that now the crab is limited to one crab per person).

Actually we had other food also. Not solely crabs. Didn't bother to snap photos of the ingredient of the Steamboat coz have already posted about it last round.

This round we had quite a bit of fried stuffs. We choose and they fry for us immediately.

Otak-Otak. Papa and his friends had this. They said very good. Now Mamarazzi regret didn't eat this pulak.

The staffs grilled some prawns, fish and BBQ Chicken wings for us.

Funny to see Auntie Little Bird's face eating the grilled Bamboo Clam for the first time. She saw the thing look rather ugly but the after a bite or two, she loved it.

Mamarazzi had a really tough time to collect all the shells to show you how much she ate.

The staffs were very efficient. Unlike some other buffet steamboat restaurant, here the staffs saw our plates a bit full aje; they will come and change new plate for us.

Yay! can eat more.

I didn't eat much. Only ate a few bites of crabs and prawns. Also had 2 fishballs and half a sausage. I was busy eyeing the Ice-cream.

Finally had my bowl of Ice-cream.

While the adults were chatting, I went roaming. I came back to our table with a bottle of Vitagen.

Mamarazzi asked where did I take from? I told her Uncle gave. If not mistaken, maybe it was one of the bosses or someone related to the restaurant. That Uncle got a cute little boy one.

She asked me if I had thanked the Uncle. I told her not. Mamarazzi pengsan-ed

They gave Loyalty Card. Get 9 chop and the 10th person eat for free. Not bad ya? They didn't charge for me though I exceeded the height. Maybe they saw that I didn't eat much.

My Snow Skin Mooncake

Eating mooncake is like eating gold nowadays. Getting more and more expensive every year.

Even those sold in Pasar Malam also getting pricier. Maybe coz price of sugar had increased and they have to put a lot of sugar in the mooncakes?

Anyway, Mamarazzi googled and found out that Snow Skin Mooncakes are easy to make.

With the advices of Wai Kitt and Alice Law, Mamarazzi went to Bakery Supplies shop and got a packet of Koh Fun(Fried Rice Flour). 1kg RM6.80

Vegetable shortening? Who would want to make the vegetable short?

At first Mamarazzi was doubtful whether to make Lotus Paste or Red Bean. But she saw the shop selling a packet of Lotus seed for RM31(Forgotten how many kg), she decided to make Red Bean Paste better just in case the experiment failed.

Bought RM3 red bean.

Being the lazy bum that Mamarazzi is, she threw them into the slow cooker to cook overnight.

The next morning I got to drink Red Bean Soup while Mamarazzi scooped up the "char".

She blend it with Ah Mah's Gula Melaka which is not that sweet.

.
After that she fried the blended paste with oil till it thickens and no longer stick to the pan.

She was not sure when to add in the "Kuaci" so the threw them in when the paste thickens.

Scooped up from the pan and stuffed into the fridge first coz she wanted to clean the house pulak.

We finally began the "project" in the evening when she was free.

Chop! Chop! testing testing!

The first piece made by Mamarazzi. Aiyo so ugly!

Shoo! shoo! I make pulak

It's so ugly! I makan first. Later paiseh let people see this ugly piece.

Ngap! Ngap! Cheek looks swollen coz mouth full of the mooncake.

See how I do la! Shift shift more flour. Add some "short vegetable" and a bit of sugar water.

Massage massage.

Okay? Ready?

 Here I go.

Chop! Chop!

 Jeng! Jeng!

My Snow Skin Red Bean Paste Mooncake!

Put into the fridge. Let it cold. Can eat already. No need to bake. No need to steam.

Since now everything naik harga. I also wanna sell expensive la.

TWO RINGGIT each ! TWO RINGGIT each !

Not too expensive coz after it's handmade by me wor. A three year old kid wor.

1/3 packet of the flour plus RM3 Red Bean can make into this many Mini Snow Skin Mooncake(minus one in my tum tum). About 30 pieces. Not bad huh?

All "chop chop" by me. Mamarazzi only helped in putting the paste into the dough.

While I am at it, I might as well make a "Snow Wash Car Mooncake" lah. This one can see cannot eat one.

Restaurant Siow Claypot Hot Soup, Petaling Jaya

Went to Kanna Curry House the other day. Noticed a shop selling Claypot Hot Soup just opposite of Kanna

Slurrppp.....we were a bit early. Not many people yet.

Food came quite fast. Oink oink with salted fish. Delicious!!

The Hot Soup. Got chicken meat and oink oink in it. Doesn't have the oink oink stomach and intestine. Maybe need to be order separately.

Slurpppp...

A tad too peppery for me. But Mamarazzi said not enough pepper pulak.

Ordered some Tauhu Goreng. Kira okay la.

Had some Yau Mak. A bit too oily for Mamarazzi. Maybe should have order blanched Yau Mak instead.

Here is the address just in case you are interested to have a try No 58, Jalan 19/3, 46300 Petaling Jaya .  Tel : 012-9778977

The Children's Life of Christ-Jesus And The Children

Everyone knows Jesus loves little children. One of the story in "The Children's Life of Christ" by Enid Blyton, hightlighted this.

There was one particular day where the crowd was huge and Jesus was tired. His disciples saw this and felt sorry for him. They wanted him to rest. But then some mothers brought their children to Jesus so that Jesus could bless their children.

The diciples turned the children and their mothers away without consulting Jesus. Jesus saw this and made haste to deter them He told them to bring the children to him. He also said that unless they have the open heart like the little chilren, they would never be able to enter his kingdom.

What a wonderful story.

Hari Raya is coming. As with most festival, children are the happiest.

We went to Hytex Warehouse Sale last weekend hoping to get some new pants for me.

Saw many parent rushing to grab baju for their little ones. It's incredible coz no matter what, children will always comes first. Even if the parent don't get themselves new attire, but somehow, they will get something new for their kids.

I followed Mamarazzi in while Papa waited in the car. After Mamarazzi grabbed a few items, she bought an Ice-cream for me and Papa.

I can't believe it. I was here eating Ice-cream a year ago. Now, am here again eating Ice-cream.

This round, Mamarazzi didn't get much. It was the last day of sale. The baju that are left were like "Salted Vege". Just a few T-shirts for me.

Guess all the good things have been grabbed by other parents.

Anyone know where Mamarazzi can get some cheap long pants for me? Preferably less those costing RM20 and below. Currently, am wearing pants for 4 years old kids and those pants seems to have "shrunk".

She went for a warehouse sale at SS3 last week. Nearly pengsan when saw some pants for kids were priced RM50 over and with only 30%  discount. Not much difference from what offered at the shopping complexes.

Funny Fruits from Pasar Malam & Ice Cream Potong

What did Mamarazzi bought from Pasar Malam?

 A rubber ball?

 A Rambutan?

Nope. It's Pulasan. Adik-beradik to Rambutan gua.

Just like its name, just need to "pulas"(Twist) and the skin will open.

Inside it looks like Rambutan. Taste also a bit like Rambutan but the pulp is thicker than Rambutan

Saw some Blueberries selling at RM8 a packet. It's supposed to be sw3eet right? But these were sour like plums. Yikes...

Well, into the blender they goes with some cherry tomatoes.

Turned into Ice Cream Potong by Mamarazzi

Yikes....added sugar already wor...still sour geh.....Back to the drawing board...

Mamarazzi's Popiah(Spring Rolls)

The other day went to Bazaar again. Papa saw some SYT's making and selling Popiah.

They were putting a table spoon of shredded "sengkuang" (a.k.a Jicama /Yam Bean) onto the Popiah skin.

Papa asked what else they were going to put into the Popiah. The SYT replied, that's all. Guess how much they are selling it for? RM3 for 5 small pieces! Mamarazzi said she could do better.

The very next morning, Papa woke Mamarazzi up and off to the market we went.

Mamarazzi bought a medium size Sengkuang, some carrots, some lettuce(Sang Choy), cucumber and taugeh(Bean sprout).

Couldn't find popiah skin in the pasar. Subang Jaya market is a bit too far to go. Hence we went to Tesco nearby. Bought Popiah skin, tauchu sauce and sweet taucu sauce .

Got to say this brand of popiah skin is quite good. Very thin and not easy to break.

Came home shredded the Sengkuang and carrot. Then she stir fry them with some dried shrimp. Add some oyster sauce and dark Soya sauce.

Scramble a few eggs.

Supposed to fry onions but she took the easy way out. SHe bought a packet of the pre-fried onion instead.

Ya, saw in some e-mails there were claims that some company fry the onions with plastic to make it more crunchy. Not sure about these claims. Well, hentam aje la. Close eyes and eat.

She fried four pieces of tauhu. Then minced the fried Tauhu, shredded the cucumber and blanched the taugeh.

Easy job...all ingredients are ready.

Just need to dump everything onto the Popiah skin. Not really dump lah...more or less like that lor.

Then roll and wrap it.

First time making Popiah. Not bad ya the result?

Yummm...it's that easy...
