Diamonds Oh Diamonds

Still remember Mamarazzi post on my newborn cousin last month? We went shopping at The Curve the other day for the baby's "Full Moon" Celebration gift.

Papa said give "angpau". Mamarazzi said it's customary to give jewellery, preferably gold.

Walked to a few jewellery shop. The gold price is very high nowadays and surprisingly there are a lot of great offers on Diamonds. Mamarazzi can't help glancing at the Diamond section. She was really attracted to the diamonds.

But then though the price was cheap but she dare not buy them. She recalled reading Auntie Cleff's post regarding Blood Diamonds, on how many people where tortured and lost their life in order for us to have these diamonds.

But lucky for vain pots like Mamarazzi as there are other option such as lab grown diamonds. These are diamonds that are grown by man and it's eco-friendly. It's not fake diamond. It have the same physical, chemical and optical properties as those mined.

At one of the shops that Mamarazzi went to, she saw some colourful diamonds. The Jeweller said those are pricier that the normal diamonds as stones like that are hard to come by. Mamarazzi recalled coming across a website that sell eco-friendly diamond which stock some delightful Yellow Canary Diamonds and the price was cheaper too.

Chinese would love these yellow diamonds because Feng Shui wise, yellow is a very auspicious colour. Yellow means $$$ coming in. Maybe Mamarazzi should get one for me. Money come..money come...

Want to know what did Mamarazzi end up getting for my baby cousin? It's something yellow.

Oyster King at The Garden

Papa still "mengidam" Fried Oyster. Hence we came to what term as the "Best" Oyster KL. Oyster King at The Gardens.

Wow! very unique. Menu came with a "kiap-kiap". Can bring home to "kiap" Papa's baju ah?

We opt for their value set RM9-80 that come with oysters cooked in several ways, Wun Chai ko/Yam Cake and a choice Tea/Coffee/Mineral Water.

While waiting for our order to come, I played "kiap kiap" Papa's finger. Papa said "Ow! pain pain". I got worried. If Papa's finger pain pain means no more gai-gai wor. Ginger pain pain cannot drive car.

Papa ordered Yam Cake for his set while Mamarazzi ordered Wun Chai Ko. Papa had one bite of the Yam cake and said he don't like. Mamarazzi had a taste too. Said maybe not eough yam.

The Wun Chai Ko tasted so-so only but the Sambal was nice.

Finally comes Fried Oyster. Uiks! why so "wet" geh. Not dry and crispy like the ones in Puchong geh. Hmmm ...maybe this is the Malacca style of "Oh Chien". Taste? Do not suit us.

Mamarazzi ordered Oyster noodle for her set. Bigger portion would be appreciated. Can finish in 3 spoon full. Disappointing.

Haiz...still hungry. Not satisfied.

Well, this is just my personal opinion lah. Not necessary represent the truth for many have praises this stall. Each person have different taste.

The One Year Book of Encouragement by Harold Myra

Mamarazzi was provided by Tyndale House Publishers with this complimentary copy of "One Year Book of Encouragement" written by Harold Myra.

This book consist of a collection of words of wisdom and encouragement by authors from the past and present. There are 370 pages in this book, including the "Sources/Bibliography" page. Each date there is a story and at the end of the story there is a quote from the Bible. Very meaningful.

This book is just right for those people who do not have time to read. It's a good motivational book to start or end the day with. Just need a minute or two to finish a story. After all, it's just a page and some are shorter than a page.

When Mamarazzi received this book, she immediately flip to the date February 23. It's a story titled "A Short Visit Here". It's words of wisdom from Thomas A Kempis who provided the yardstick of genuine success. According to him "He is truly great, who is great in the love of God. He is truly great, who is humble in mind, and regards Earth's honors as nothing".

Meaning, many chase the honor and glory on earth but these "medals" are earth bound and will pass in a blink of the eye. Only the love of God is everlasting.

The end of the story there was this line from the Bible Psalm 90:12 "Teach us to realise the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Mamarazzi gives this book 4 stars out of 5.

Bedtime Stories And Prayers By Enid Blyton-A Den Of Thieves

About 2 weeks ago we went "gai-gai" in KL town. We pass by a prayer place. Nope, Mamarazzi is not going to name the prayer place is for which religion.

Many people went there for prayer. Mamarazzi really surprised to see that there are many food stalls and clothing stalls within its compound. Normally people would probably set up stalls outside of the prayer place compound and not inside the compound. How can people pray properly with all the distraction and the smell of food?

This reminded Mamarazzi on one of the story in Enid Blyton's Bedtime and Prayer story book.

It was said that there was one time where Jesus was very angry.

It happen when he went to a beautiful church in Jerusalem to pray at the House of God.

What he say there made him very angry. The outer court of the Temple of God have been turned into "pasar". It's dirty and noisy. Children running everywhere, money changers and vendors cheating their customers.

Jesus know that he have to stop people from treating the church this way. He shouted and turnover their tables and chase the vendors away

The Vendors complained asking him what right he have to chase them away.

Jesus was alone but he was not afraid. He answered them sternly "In the Bible it's written that The House of God's shall be a House of Prayer. But you have made it a den of thieves!"

Nobody dares to answer nor strike Jesus but they say that they will lodge their complains to the Chief Priest.

Ordinary people were happy that Jesus fearlessness and his courage to speak the truth. Hence, for awhile the Church is quiet and calm once more.
