Aroma Kueh Nyonya at Restaurant Kwai Sun, SS15 Subang Jaya

Mamarazzi can't forget the great taste of these Kueh Nyonya since she had some at the Subang Jaya Book Exchange. She asked the lady-in-charged, Ms Fay, where did she get the Kueh. The lady told her it's in SS15.

Mamarazzi was real excited last week went she saw this stall at Restaurant Kwai Sun at SS15 selling very similar looking kuehs. Maybe Ms Fay got it from here?

There were a vast varieties of Kueh.

She bought some. These are her favourite and mine too. I love Angkoo ever since I was in Mamarazzi's tummy. In fact, Papa and Mamarazzi joked that I refused to come out earlier coz wanna eat one more day of Angkoo. Before pregnant with me, she don't like much of angkoo.

The ones from this stall taste just nice for me and Mamarazzi. It's not too sweet and the one with the Pandan(Green) Skin have very nice Pandan aroma.

This is Kueh Seri Muka. I love it. Yummy...the glutinous rice is salty and the Green custard is sweet. The two taste blends well together.

Found out this is called Kueh Seri Manja. Papa loves these. Hmm...no wonder so manja.

Pulut Tai Tai is basically Glutinous rice cake and is to be eaten with Kaya(Coconut Jam). Mamarazzi said that people in the old days used a type of blue flower called "Bunga Telang" to make the Kueh have blue color. But nowadays most people would use food colouring.

Saw the stall selling these Pineapple Tarts. RM22 a container of 24 pieces. A bit expensive but it tasted very good or at least it suits Mamarazzi's taste lah.

The "inti"(Pineapple jam) is just rough enough for Mamarazzi to chew on. She doesn't like those finely blend pineapple.

According to the Boss, his daughter used honey instead of sugar to make the jam. No wonder taste nice lah!

As Mamarazzi was leaving, she spotted a tray of Kuih Bakul. The lady said it's fresh. They made it just two days ago. Mamarazzi touched and she can feel the Kuih  Bakul or Cantonese say "Lin Koh", is still very soft.

Usually it's a must have for Chinese New Year. Great to be eaten shredded coconut when it's still soft or if your wish, you can deep fry it with eggs and flour.

I can't wait to dig into all those Nyonya Kuehs. Naughty Mamarazzi ate two Angkoo in the car. Then Papa walloped the Seri Muka. Hmm...I also tak mau kalah...I finished the balance la.

Hmmm...shall I?

Yes! I shall. Me become Mickey Mouse liao.

Mamarazzi said have to get some more Kuih Bakul lor...coz this one kena tikus gigit(bitten by mouse)

As Mamarazzi was writing this post, she stumbled upon a blog post about this stall. Here is the link in case you are interested to read more. From that blog she got to know that the kueh are made by Aroma Nyonya Kueh at OUG Industrial Park.

After reading the blog, we went to the stall again the next day armed with camera.

Main purpose is to get some more "Kuih Bakul" as Papa's and Mamarazzi's friends are also interested to buy some too.

Then she asked permission from the Boss to snap some photos.

The Boss was very obliging. In fact, he even gone to the trouble of rearranging some of the Kuih for a "better" view.

Paiseh...Mamarazzi really not good at snapping photos lah.

Anyway, the Boss is also selling Chinese New Year goodies at the moment.

He managed to persude Mamarazzi to get a container of these Peanut cookies. RM20. Taste good. Not full of sugar.

Here is his contact number and his daughter's contact number in case you are interested to get some.

This round, Mamarazzi also try out other types of kuih .

The famous Kuih Lapis. MMm....she remembers that this kuih used to be very colourful when she was a kid. SHe would peel off layer by layer to eat.

Kuih Seri Muka. Top is made of Pumpkin and bottom is Glutious Rice.

Hmmm another hybrid? Got Yam in it.

Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain, Bercham, Ipoh

That evening Auntie Claire brought us to have the famous Claypot food at Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain.

Jeng! Jeng! Claypot Crab Tang Hoon. Can put prawns or fish if you don't like to eat Crabs.

This dish have to be eaten very fast else all the soup would be gone. Taste not bad la. Would be nicer if they add more wine into it.

Priced RM62. A bit expensive. Think it's due to the seasonal price for the crabs. The Crabs were quite meaty.

Next is the crunchy "Shar Chui" fish. If not mistaken it was RM2 a piece. Cheaper than a mamak that we went to who charged RM4 a piece.

Aiks! This one look a bit like Dragon wor...

Another of their famous dish. Saito Fish ball. RM1 a "ball". Very bouncy.

We ordered "Nai Pak"(Asian Green) but duno how come this "Xiao Bai Chai"(Chinese Cabbage) come out pulak. RM8. No regret as they cooked this vege just nice. Not too raw or over-cooked. Taste very sweet.

Mmm... full full liao.

Ahem ahem...actually not full full la...Just now busy playing with sand. No time to eat. Lucky Auntie Claire "tapau-ed" the remaining fishballs for me. Can you see my "balls"?

Here is the address of the restaurant if you wish to try out the dishes there. Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain 味不同海鲜坊, 69, Persiaran Medan Bercham 2, Pusat Bandar Baru Bercham, 31400 Ipoh, Perak. Open: 5-10pm. Closed Weds. GPS : N4 38.359 E101 08.093

Fair Weather! No Rain!

Weather was bright. Roaring to go. Arrived, weather is still fair. No Rain. Wet wet water la .

Time flies. Kejap aje the Cikgu(teacher) come and fetch me say time to go home. Mamarazzi is waiting for me. I was reluctant to go home. Wanna go school some more but Mamarazzi said if I am naughty, she won't bring me to school.

Woolley Food Court, Ipoh (Revisited)

We "kidnapped" Auntie Claire to Woolley Food Court for a makan-makan.

Had the yummy Beef noodle

Slurppppp...delicious!

Mamarazzi had her Prawn Noodle. Just nice for her. Not too spicy.

Tried the Char Keoy Teow.

Mamarazzi really "jakun". Only now she got to know this is called "Hoe Hee". Basically Keoy Teow Soup with fish cake, fish balls and stuffs like that.

Wanted to order Cockles but they have ran out of stock. So we had Sotong Kangkung instead.

Mamarazzi saw the next table had this Mix Fruit Ice. She ordered one to be share. Cheap at RM2-90 only. If at those famous dessert places in KL, I think at least RM10 lor.

Eh wah eh wah....Papa feed me till masuk hidung pulak.

After that Mamarazzi wanna go to "JJ" pulak and asked Auntie Claire to show the way.

Auntie Claire was wondering why Mamarazzi wanna go "JJ" and Mamarazzi was puzzled why Auntie Claire led us to "Jusco" .

Mamarazzi wanted to go to "JJ Cake House".

Haiz...this Mamarazzi ah...never say properly. Say "JJ" only. Auntie Claire thought "JJ" as in Jaya Jusco coz that is what Ipoh people called Jaya Jusco, while over here we called it as "Jusco". What a hilarious mixed up.

We did arrive at "JJ" and she "borong" some Swiss Rolls.

This Mamarazzi ah...must be still half asleep. Why she buy the Swiss Rolls that got jelly in the middle geh. Previously, if not mistaken, the Swiss Rolls have fresh fruits. Not jelly. Maybe she took the wrong type ya.

We adjourned back to Auntie Claire's house after getting the Swiss Rolls. There I had some more coconut water while waiting o go for dinner pulak. Non-stop eating.

The Children's Life of Christ-Jesus Comes To His Disciples/Dreams Came True For Us

5..4..3..2..1..Happy New Year!!! May this year brings you good health and best of luck.

It was really unexpected to have my dream come true on the last day of the year.

A million "THANK YOU" to Auntie Little Bird for the lovely Aeroplane.

I saw Kor Kor playing the other day and I told Auntie Little Bird that I want one too.

Unexpectedly she bought one for me just now.

Mamarazzi also got her wish...Curry Chicken. Thank you thank you

This week, Mamarazzi told me a great bedtime story from The Children's Life of Christ book by Enid Blyton.

Titled "Jesus Comes to His Disciples".

Well, the news about Jesus body no longer in the cave spread like fire. That evening, two of his disciples were walking back from Jerusalem to their village of Emmaus. They were discussing about the happening of past few days and about the disappearence of Jesus body.

As they walked, a stranger joined them. They couldn't see his face clearly as it was twilight. The stranger asked them what were they talking about and they told him. They revealed to him the sadness of their hearts and wondered why Jesus suffers so.

Then the stranger start to tell them things. Talked about the Bible and from what he had said, the two disciples started to see many things clearly.

They approached their home and they invited the stranger into their house to have a meal with them. As Jesus had done many times before, he took the bread and blessed it. He broke it and gave some to them. It was then that they realised that it was Jesus that was sitting with them. Jesus then vanished in front of their eyes.

The two of the rushed back to Jerusalem and told the rest what had happen. Among them was Thomas who didn't really believe what had happen and said he would only believe it of he saw it himself and the mark of the nails on Jesus hands.

It was a week after that which Jesus came again. This round, Jesus saw Thomas and showed him the marks. With that Thomas knew without a doubt that it was Jesus. Jesus spoke "Because you have seen me, you have believed; but blessed are those who do not see and yet believe!".

Once again...Goodnight and sweet dreams.
