Restaurant Nyonya Makko at Taman Melaka Raya, Malacca

After check out from the hotel, we went hunting for lunch pulak. This round is Nyonya Food. 

Didn't know which restaurant is good so we simply closed one eye and tembak one. Mamarazzi choose this restaurant coz saw their big signboard at a road junction.

Eh eh..these "keropok" looks a bit like those Mamarazzi bought from San Shu Gong. Papa don't eat all ah...I want some.

Then we proceed to order some dishes. Papa wanted "Terung  Sambal Belacan" (Eggplant Cooked With Shrimp Paste?)

The Waitress brought us this instead. .. Sambal Belacan. Miscommunication. Must have heard "tolong tambah belacan"(Please add/give belacan). 

Well, the Sambal Belacan tasted real good. Blessing in disguise.

 

Again we placed the order for the Terung Sambal Belacan. This round the lady got it correct. The taste suits us.

Auntie Florence wanted to try Nyonya Chap Chye(Nyonya Mixed Vegetable). 

Hmm...quite good. I ate this with my plate of rice. Love the gravy.

Prawns with Petai. Sure Kaw Kaw LC will drool seeing this dish.

Very special Omelette. It's fried with Cincalok. Cincalok is made of fermented small shrimp or Krill. 

Some may not like it but Papa, Auntie Florence and Uncle Patrick like it very much. Hmmm...as for Mamarazzi and me, we ate a bit.

Papa and Mamarazzi heard so much about this dish, Ayam Buah Keluak. 

It's basically Chicken cook with Keluak Fruit. This Keluak fruits is known to be very poisonous of not cooked properly. 

It's the first time for us tasting this Buah Keluak.

It's in a thick shell. We have to dig out the pulp and eat. 

Hmmm....taste rather anti-climax. Nothing much special. 

At first, Mamarazzi thought it would have a very strong taste or something like that but it didn't. Taste normal.

We also had Asam Fish. Mamarazzi love it.

I have "invented" a new way of eating rice. Put it on the keropok and ate with keropok. Chomp! Chomp! Chomp!

Again we ate Sotong Goreng Kunyit(Squid Fried with Tumeric).

Taste real good. Love the crunchy parts.

Hmmm how many dishes did we had? ...7?  Sure if Ah Mah was there sure will say "aiyo ..lu lang order ani jeh"(You all ordered so much) .

No worries, we ordered small portion. Each person gets a bite of everything. 

Half way eating, the Lady Boss came over asking us if we wanted to order any Cendol as the Kicthen will be closing for the session soon. The Restaurant close at 2.45pm and re-open for the evening at 6pm.

Ya we had some Cendol. Mamarazzi likes this Cendol than the San Shu Gong ones. But Papa said he likes the Cendol from Bibik House better.

Total Bill comes up to RM125-50. Not that expensive, right? Food was not bad. Service was fast. Thank you very much to Uncle Patrick for the lunch treat.

Next stop.....ITALY!

The Children's Life of Christ-What Happen to the Traitor/Christmas Shopping

Can't believe 1 year has nearly gone. 

Last year, we had gone to Bangsar and there was a Lego Exhibition there. Papa and Mamarazzi bought me a bucket of Lego as my Christmas gift.

I hugged it all the way home.

This year, I went shopping with Mamarazzi. I saw this "Building set". Managed to "bodek" Mamarazzi to get this for me.

Hmm...quite similar pose one year before and one year after, ya?

Mamarazzi managed to do some Christmas shopping last Friday. Again she went to BookXcess. 

Amazed as she found a lot of Enid Blyton books being stocked there. There are a lot of new books at the Children section. Didn't have time to drop by other section.

Check out this cute "Doggie" . The tum tum is empty. This "doggie" eats pillow. When the tummy full, it's very nice to huggy this "doggie".

Mamarazzi can't resist it and bought one. It's only RM19-90 and it comes with a book and CD. Love the eyes .

This round Mamarazzi very "guai". Bought only 3 books. One ter-left in the car so no photo here.

Mamarazzi bought the "Julie&Julia" book on 50% discount coz it was one of the 6 books listed under "Book of The Week". Mamarazzi didn't like the movie but hopefully this book is good. Oh well....it's less than RM9 after discount and an additional 5% discount for members.

She can't help herself when she spotted the Hardcover "The O'Clock Tales Collection" by Enid Blyton. There are 40 stories in this book. RM19-90 only leh.....really worth while. Last time she bought something similar it was RM36 plus.

Speaking of Enid Blyton book, Judas had a sad ending in the "The Children's Life of Christ". 

After betraying Jesus, Judas started to regret his decision especially since Jesus is to be put to death in such a cruel way. He recalled how kind Jesus was to him and other people. And he knew Jesus was innocent. 

All is too late. He can't bring himself to spend the 30 pieces of silver blood money. He went looking for the Chief Priests and told them that he bitterly regretted his decision and gave them back the money. They only laughed at him. 

At that time, Judas felt that he had done great wrong and could never forgive himself. He went and hanged himself.  If only he had gone to Jesus and asked for his forgiveness. Jesus would have forgiven him. Too bad for it's always the darkest hour before the sunrises.

 

Word World With Ayamas Alphabets Nuggets

Lately am crazy about Nuggets. Can't get enough of it. Hence, Mamarazzi went nugget hunting at one of the hypermarket nearby. Found this Ayamas Power Nuggets. She bought a packet.

When she fried some for me the other day, I immedietely exclaimed "Wah! Word World. Let's built a word". 

Word World is one of the show that I frequently watched in the Television.

Too bad, I can't build much word out of them coz I ate most of the alphabets. I give them Double Thumbs Up.

A Famosa, Malacca

After the River Cruise, our next stop was A Famosa.One of the most visited place in Malacca.

Let's go hill climbing

Faster la Mamarazzi. You can't catch me! Looks like Mamarazzi is getting too old for the climb already. Walk a bit already semput/out of breath.

From here, I can see the Taming Sari Tower and the replica of the former Portuguese ship named “Flor De La Mar” which now house the Malacca Maritime Museum.

What a wonderful view.

Just imagine....these building have been here since around 1511. That's a very long time.

I wonder how long have this tree been around.

Look at me! I am up up high on the tree. Gonna climb up to the top of the fortress.

Ahem...humping the tree? Opppss...nah just measuring how many arms lenght is this tree.

We didn't stay long here. It was a very hot day and we have to get back to the hotel to check out soon. 

Next stop will be to the hotel and then more "Cari Makan" adventures.

Malacca River Cruise and The London Bridge Is Falling Down Song

 

Mamarazzi had heard so much about the Melaka River Cruise and she was determined to go for the Cruise

Papa found parking opposite Public Bank Building near the Red House. We asked the Parking Attendant where do we buy the ticket for the River Cruise. He told us "kat hujung bangunan"(At the end of the building). 

Hence we walk and walk and walk lo...nice view behind the shops.

Mamarazzi managed to get some nice shots here.

 

Me and Auntie Florence saw a Jackfruit tree abundance with fruits. Too bad it's not ripe yet.

Walked till end of the building still no sign of the ticketing counter. We then asked another young man. 

The young man told us to go down to the jetty and wait for the boat. When we sees the boat, we are supposed to wave like waving for a taxi/cab. And ask the boat to send us to the Main Jetty to get the tickets.

However, when we got down to the Jetty we saw this signboard. Looks like both young men also gave us wrong information. 

The tickets can be purchase on the boat itself. To take a boat, we have to be at the jetty and wave at the boat.

Price for adult is RM10 per person while for children is RM5 per child. There is an option of Day Pass too where the passenger will be given a Wristband. It's called Ho-Ho Service where for RM20 per adult and RM10 per child can disembark at any jetty and walk around the area. Later on the may board another boat at the jetty to get to another jetty for sight-seeing.

Wave! Wave! Come here come here!

Wah...got the whole boat to ourselves. Great to be here when it's not weekend or Public Holidays.

Can sit anywhere I wish.

Don't wanna sit down la. Run to the front of the boat and look around la.

The boat chugged all the way up the river with soothing music on. 

 

Once we got to the main Jetty, the Boat Lady started the tour for us with pre-recorded commentary on the tour which describe each place that we pass.

I saw The Eye On Malaysia and the Pirate Ship. I wanted to go but Mamarazzi said the Theme Park not open yet . It's too early.

We saw many colorful building and interesting sights too. The whole tour took around 45 minutes and covers about 9km of the river.

During the Cruise, Mamarazzi discovered something. 

Each time we came near a bridge and pass under a bridge (Trust me, there were many bridges there), I would dodge my head.

Or I would run on back to the shaded area of the boat. Mamarazzi said must be due to the phobia from the song "London Bridge Is Falling Down". I wouldn't want the bridge to come falling down on my head.

Overall it had been a pleasant experience. Thank you very much to Uncle Patrick for spending us for the tour.
