Chowrasta Bazaar & Seng Thor Coffee Shop, Penang

Next stop was Chowrasta Bazaar.

The famous Nutmeg. Fresh and dried ones.

The Bazaar are full of stalls selling these pickles.

Wah lau eh...can see Uncle Patrick and Auntie Florence bought a tonne of these. Said its very cheap.

Mamarazzi didnt buy any as she is not fond of pickles.

Saw a stall selling Keropok Brinjai. Hmm...Auntie Elin sure love this. Too bad we are not going back thru Ipoh.

For me, I managed to bodek Mamarazzi to buy me this Flag. It got candy in it.

Mamarazzi told me not to open yet. Wait till in the car then open. I didn't listen to her. The candy end up tumpah all over the roadside...sobs...

Then we went to the famous Fried Oh Chien(Fried Oyster Omelette) stall nearby. It's located at Seng Thor Coffee Shop on Carnavon Street

Eat at Kopitiam must act like Ah Pek one. One leg must go up and away with the shoes.

I saw Uncle Patrick having Wan Tan Mee. I wanted some too. I quickly run to him and have him feed me.

Seeing that I wanted to eat Wan Tan Mee, Mamarazzi ordered a plate to share with me. But I didn't want to eat with Mamarazzi.

I wanna eat with Uncle Patrick. I end up finishing half of his plate of Wan Tan Noodle.

Here is the famous Oh Chien. This one is spicy one.

Another plate which is non-spicy for Papa and Mamarazzi who were not well.

After having Oh Chien, there was just one more place Mamarazzi wish to go. She wanted to get some of the Bak-Kut-Teh spices which Auntie Chen Chzan gave her last time.

The place was rather hard to find and hard to turn in but Papa managed to find it. It's at No 90, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, 10050 Penang. Tel : 04-2298130

This box of BKT spice cost RM48-90. There are 6 packets of spices in it. The spices was really aromatic. Certainly worth it.

After that we went back to rest at the apartment.

The Children's Life of Christ-The Story of the Boy Who Went Away by Enid Byton(adapted)

Mamarazzi read "The Story of the Boy Who Went Away" from Enid Blyton's "The Children's Life of Christ" book. She thought of telling me that story but it seems to be very similar to the story which she read to me last year
Hence, she went and "modify" the story a bit for me.

She said there was once this rich man with 2 sons. The younger son was bored with staying home and doing farming so he asked his father for his part of his future inheritance and went away to jolly.

Very soon all his money was gone and he had to take a job. He work and work  but yet not enough to eat. Then he think back of his father's farm who treated the workers well.

He decided to go back and ask for a job from his father.

From far away, one of his father's servant saw him and went to told his father. His father was overjoyed. The father quickly told the mother to cook the son's favourite dish.

So the mother went to the fridge and found a Talapia fish. Dug in the kitchen cabinet saw got Steam Paste. The mother is not an expert cook. She read the instruction behind the packet of Instant Steam paste. Seems easy. To steam the fish for a few minutes, then throw away the water.

Then spread the paste onto the fish. Again steam the fish for a few minutes. Hmmm...seems easy. Result came out not bad.

Then the father went and bought some Big Big Prawns which the mother cooked for the younger son to eat.

All these made the elder son angry and jealous. He was the one who stayed home and take care of the folks while the younger brother went to jolly.  To him, the father was showing favouritism.

Then the father explained to his elder son. He told him that he know that the elder son have been loyal to him all the years and he assured him that all that he have will be the elder son's. Thus the elder son do not have to worry.

He further explained that they should rejoice for the younger son coming home coz they thought that he had gone forever and dead to them but now he had return.

Won't you rejoice if the family member which you thought is dead come back alive?....errrr...unless you wanted the fella dead la...

Makan at Air Itam, Penang

The next morning I woke up early. Papa was still sleeping off his fever. I told Mamarazzi that I wanna go "swimming".

Off we went to the swimming pool in the hotel. I know Auntie Florence doesn't want to get wet. I purposely splash water at her.

Splash ah!!!

Had great time playing in the water with Kaw kaw....weeeee.........

Aiks! we sesat back to KL ah? Got KLCC geh???

Although Papa was having high fever, he still drove us to the Pasar near Kek Lok Si. What is so wonderful about the pasar there?

Well, it's this Asam Laksa stall. Very famous. Saw in Isaac Tan's blog. Mamarazzi drooled while reading that post.

There was a constant crowd waiting for their fix of Asam Laksa while we were there.

The seller was very friendly. He told us we can go opposite the road and sit in the Food Court there. He would send the food to us.

True enough. The Vendor sent us bowls of delicious Asam Laksa. Very fast and efficient some more.

Sedapppp...from far can smell the asam laksa aroma.

Again I had Keoy Teow Th'ng.

I saw Kaw Kaw and Uncle Patrick having Cendol. RM1 something only. It's either RM1.50 or RM1.80. Forgotten but it's cheaper than the Cendol we had the night before. Taste ...delicious.

Mamarazzi scolded me for not finishing my bowl of noodle when I saw the Cendol.

I cepat-cepat run over to Uncle Patrick and manja with him. I bodek him to let me have some of his Cendol.

I was surprised to see Auntie Florence's excited face. She said she found Koay Chap(RM5-50). Mamarazzi was wondering what was that.

When it came, she saw it consist of duck meat, various innards, coagulated pork blood and eggs. Auntie Florence claims that it taste wonderful.

 Popiah. Papa fever also walloped.

Papa bought some durians. Taste good.

Seems like it's durian season in Penang. Durian can be found at every corner of Penang. *Big HINT HINT Auntie Little Bird*.

Kesian Mamarazzi...can see cannot eat coz she was having sore throat. It's a good thing for me that she had lost her voice. Neh~neh~neh~can't scold me liao.
As we were walking back to the car, we pass by this shop. Seems to be very famous shop for Penang products.

Wah...Uncle Patrick and Auntie Florence really borong a lot from here. *Big HINT HINT Auntie Little Bird, again*.

Then Kaw Kaw noticed this signboard. Hmm...."Force-meat"? Starwars ka? May the Force-Meat With You!

WAREHOUSE SALE @ LEE HUAT PLASTICS

This afternoon Mamarazzi received a call from a very excited Mommy. The news? WAREHOUSE SALE!!!

The Mommy told her there is a warehouse sale nearby and that she will be going for a second round after work.

Apa lagi....ish...Mamarazzi's hand started to itch lo.

That is how we came to the warehouse sale. Uiks! got special prize for "pembelian terbanyak" wor. Chammmm...shall I call lorry ah?

Hmm...quite a large variety of plastic containers. Weird...some are printed with special logo like Maggi, Prego,Bliss and etc.

Price wise quite cheap and quality wise kira okay. Mamarazzi tested a few and the container does not seems to be brittle nor looks like old stock.

While Mamarazzi was busy "grabbing", an Uncle gave me these. A scissor, a toy and he had wanted to gave me gula-gula but I refused.

Don't worry. The scissor he gave me was not those sharp ones. The scissor is one of those which are used to cut funny shapes on paper.

When I arrive home, I immediately "start work". *Papa sure say my legs so long, looks like Tin Kai in these photos*

Can you see the FOUR large plastic of plastic containers behind of me? Mamarazzi memang crazy when it comes to warehouse sale.

But then this company also very clever as the sale start on 1st July to 4th July, 2011. Salary day?

Here are what we grabbed. Two Rubbermaid Trivet. RM5 for two.

A large rectangular container with two smaller container(RM15). One was drinking bottle and the other was water bottle cum small sandwich container.

We had too many drinking bottles and water bottles. Hence Mamarazzi asked the man to replace the two item with other item. He agreed to give us this medium size container with the word BOH on top.

5 air tight biscuits containers for RM10. The Kakak throw in two scissors as gift.

A set of 3 airtight container with a free gift(RM15). Mamarazzi choose a drinking mug as the gift.

Another sets of 3 containers for RM15, bearing the word VICO on top.

Again they offer mug/water bottle/ plastic bowl as free gift. Mamarazzi bargained with the Kakak there and the Supervisor agree to replace the gift with an air-tight biscuit container.

Again the Kakak gave two scissors.

We end up with 5 scissors, a toy and two gula-gula. The Gula-gula was given to me by the Lenglui at the Cashier Counter. Lenglui give, I take. The man give, I tarak take.

Wa....so many scissor.....can use to cut open the gula gula plastic lor.

Here are the details of the warehouse sale which Mamarazzi 'plagarised' from "Mommy Yen's" blog, including the title of the post.

Sin Kim San Hawker Center (新金山小贩中心), Penang

After going to Pasar Malam at Batu Feringgi, everyone felt a bit hungry pulak. Moreover, was not full from the dinner earlier on.

Hence Papa brought us to here. Last time Papa and Mamarazzi came to Penang, her friend Carine here. Found the food here were good.

sob sob...am sleepy leh...I don't wanna eat anymore. I wanna sleepppppp...I wanna go home.

But Mamarazzi ignored me.

She ordered this Penang "Hokkien Mee" for herself. Taste good but she still preferred the one at Woolley, Ipoh.
Uncle Patrick had this clear soup noodle.

Finally...a "presentable" looking Char Keoy Teow. Papa ate all.

My Cantonese Fried Noodle. I ate a bit only cause I was more tired than hungry.

Kaw Kaw ordered this plate to be shared among all.

A very big plate of boiled Cockle at RM7 only. Not bad.

The food at this Hawker Centre has indeed maintained its quality and taste.
