Turtle Jelly

The other day my Uncle Hock throat was feeling not so good. So Mamarazzi told him to take some Guilinggao. Good for the throat.

Uncle Hock doesn't know what is Guilinggao and Mamarazzi being Banana Chinese, told him the direct translation of Guilinggao..."Turtle Jelly".

Guess what happen when he googled "turtle jelly" using Google Image.

One of the image from google search.

Poor guy. He had a scare. He thought Mamarazzi meant that.

What Mamarazzi actually mean was this. One box cost around RM3, have 10 sachets of Guilinggao.

Pour the powder into a bowl. Add cold water and kacau till smooth and not lumpy

Pour into boiling water. Keep stirring while it boil for awhile.

Mamarazzi decided to add some longan.

The syrup pour into the boiling Guilinggao while the longan put into small bowls

Bowls of Guillinggao ready to be put into the fridge and eaten later.

Happy Birthday, Juan Or

Happy Birthday to you~
Happy Birthday to you~
Happy Birthday to Juan Or~
Happy Birthday to you!~

Hey, everyone, heads up to Adventures of Juan Or and Mommy to wish him a very Happy Birthday, please.

His mommy, Aunite Alice Phua, is one of the first blogger who followed this smallkucing ranting blog. Though we haven't meet Juan Or before. But from what Auntie Alice wrote(oh boy, she can really write), he has truly inherited his parents good genes. A fast learner.

Hope we will get the chance to meet up one of these day. I love making new friends no matter they are rich or poor, good or naughty and clever or special. Maybe Juan Or cleverness will rub off on me and my lembu-ness will rub off on him. ...shhh...don't tell Auntie Alice that *wicked grin*

From the Bible

Mark 10:13-16

13 People were bringing little children to him in order that he might touch them; and the disciples spoke sternly to them. 14But when Jesus saw this, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. 15Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.’ 16And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them.

Paulo Coelho Happen On A Rainy Night

A fortnight ago, on a rainy night, I was robbed. Robbed of my “Kimi” Mouse time.

Mamarrazi hurried to bath me and sumbat-ed me with a big bottle of milk. All because of this Paulo Coelho fella.

Mamarazzi had bought one of his books after reading many good reviews. She was halfway thru the book and with the rain coming down, it was just the right weather to snuggle down with a good book.

The Winner Stands Alone is about the happenings within 24 hours of the Cannes Film Festival.

The taiko in the story was, Igor, a successful Russian entrepreneur whose wife left him because "beh tahan" the ruthless way that he conduct his business. This Igor is determined to get his ex-wife back, by hook or by crook, and dream of a happily ever after. He is even willing to destroy a few “universe” to accomplish his goals. Universe here means snuffing the life out of several people.

Behind the scene there were stories of the life of his victims and those who are closed to the victims.

There were details of the length that some of these people would do in order to achieve fame and glory. The Festival was portrayed not as an occasion to glorify a film nor acknowledge achievement of directors and the cast. But rather a survival for the fittest scene. Ones got to be good in manipulating others in order to survive.

So..is this a good book or not? Well, Mamarazzi had never read any of Paulo Coelho books before. He had written many and this is one of his latest book.

Overall, Mamarazzi is very happy with this book coz despite Paulo Coelho is now a famous author, he didn’t cincai write the ending of this book. Many famous authors, when they are famous, they tend to be sloppy with the ending of their books. Everything would conveniently fell into place and nicely tapau-ed at the end. This is not what happen with The Winner Stands Alone.

This book can rival Sidney Sheldon, Arthur Hailey and Jeffrey Archer books anytime .

The Day That Gas Tong Kaput-ed

Two weeks ago Mamarazzi had an "Uh-Oh" situation. Halfway cooking, the gas finished. She changed the tong of Gas by herself as usual.

After changing, Mamarazzi turn on the Regulator. Uh-Oh! she can heard loud hissing sound plus bad gas smell escaping from the Regulator. Tried several times with the same result.

Alamak! Papa not around. How ah? Then Mamarazzi thought of my Uncle Ah Chai. She texted him asking him to help to buy a new Regulator. Must be the Regulator rosak, right?

Uncle came. He changed the Regulator and yet the hissing sound and bad smell continued when the Regulator was turn on. Then discovered that there is something wrong with the Valve of the Tong of Gas.

The next day, the man from the Grocery Shop came and checked. Found out that the tiny rubber inside the valve have worn out. He said he had encountered this problem before. Said will occurred for 1 in every 100 or 200 Tong of Gas.

How come like that one? The tong of Gas was new with the security cap intact before Mamarazzi open it. The Gas company never check properly before they send out the Tong for sell meh? Dangerous leh.

The helpful man dug out the rubber from tong and replaced it with the rubber from the empty tong of gas.

This is the offending object which had caused Mamarazzi's much stress and wasted Uncle Chai's RM15 for the new Regulator. Mamarazzi tried to give money to Uncle but he refused to accept. Thank you very much Uncle.

Restaurant Hao Hao Kee, Taman Desa Jaya

Mamarazzi saw Uncle Pete's post on the delicious Duck Satay a few days ago. Beh tahan. Bising ask Papa to bring makan satay here.

Check out Uncle Pete's delicious post here. However, have to caution you first..as the property solicitors would say.."Caveat emptor"(Let The Buyer Beware)..His blog is full of delicious food!

Jeng~jeng~jeng~ first order of business is to order the Duck Satay, before find table. Not many left. Very laku.

Time to order food pulak.

*Pengsan-ed* Tahi Style Crispy Prawn??? Definitely won't order that.

Instead, we had Mixed Vegetable. Taste good. They add prawns and chicken meat too.

Taufu with Pig Skin. Taste ordinary. The pig skin doesn't have bad oil smell though a bit too soft.

Pork intestine. Fuiyoh! fried with crunchy "Har Mai" and cili padi. This dish alone will make Mamarazzi wanna go and makan again.

See how they cut the intestine into the shape of small flower.

The shop lady also recommend Herbal Chicken. Half a Chick RM22. Papa is okay with the taste but Mamarazzi doesn't like this much as they add Star Aniseed. That covered the herbal smell and taste. Too bad.

But I finished a bowl of rice solely on its gravy. Yum yum..

The Satay very laku. Food nearly finished baru our satay arrive.

Hmm...very bouncy. Really yummy Duck Satay. Tapau-ed home. Can eat for supper

Gosh..the Satay so laku today. 9.30p.m. finished liao. The lady boss even clean up the stall already!

This restaurant is located at 27, Jalan 13, Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. For GPS and detailed map, please visit Uncle Pete's blog by clicking here

Bedtime Stories And Prayers By Enid Blyton-The Begining of Things

Still remember that the Enid Blyton book that I found in Mamarazzi hoard of books? Mamarazzi read me the first story from there

.

The Beginning of Things. God made this world. At first there was nothing. Then God said "Let There Be light" and there was light. God made the night and the day, the sea and the land, the earth and the sky.

Then God also made things grew on earth and under the sea. Set up the sun, the moon and the stars.

God also made live on earth. All the animals, birds, insect and fishes.

God looked at all living things on earth and He bless them and commands them to grow and have families.

Last but not least He made man and made man to be the Lord of all the creatures on earth.

Of course, Enid Blyton wrote very nicely as compared to Mamarazzi's summary. There was even a Prayer to give thanks to God who created this world.
